He wasn't perfect, he made a glaring mistake in not cleaning up a kick

The problem with Lett is that he has major mistakes in his game...

i.e Brisbane game (passing to nobody) and Saints game (playing the ball to nobody)

in my opinion, he is not a winger or centre, he is a fullback, and we already have Barba in that position

losing him will be no big loss

I thought he played well on the weekend without being awesome but like alot of other people on this forum I agree that he has too many errors in his game. Im a little worried about our depth in the backs next season and Im hopeful they do sign one more quality back before season 2012 kicks off

Lett still has no club for 2012..

Still no club? Why won't we resign him for 1 more year!! he scores 2 trys in nsw cup gf... pretty hopeless bulldogs... he is better than Wright imao... no club wants him!! :(

I agree. I think he should be our winger next year. Just teach in to catch bombs.

Gould definitely has his eyes on Lett if we don't sign him up.

How do you know this, is this for real?

Also, can anyone please tell me this...

Surely the best player in Nsw Cup, can at least get another feeder club to play for? Just not on the minimum $55k per year.
Then he can get a look in, and play NRL just being a park footballer??????

can someone please clarify

lol have you seen Gould when he talks about Lett? He is practically drooling. If there's one man that can turn him into a superstar, it's Gould.

That and he'd be dirt cheap...

The guy has a lot more potential than Wright does...i don't understand our club's mentality, we don't need a superstar winger but we do need a specialist winger and Lett is one of them. Sign him up, and stop trying to turn a centre who has feet for hands into a winger (Wright)

Roosters, Dragons and Eels fans made similar threads when he wasn't re-signed by them.

you obviously didnt hear gould talking about him on the weekend? He was regarded as well as Greg Inglis when played in the Under 17's NSW SOO in 2004. Gould even re-affirmed this on Sunday. He has freakish ability. his try's to game ratio, NSW cup AND NRL cannot be denied. Letts Keep HIM!!!

Yeah, I did hear Gould talking about him on Sunday.
LOTS of players have excelled in junior grades. Lett wasn't the best, and he never will be. You'll get players ten times better than him who won't do anything in the rugby league world. In the end, it comes down to mentality, and proving that you deserve your spot. Sure, Lett scores tries, but he also concedes a lot. In the Broncos game, he had that brainsnap that led directly to a try (and we lost by a try's margin). In the Dragons game, he was targeted with the high ball and failed to rise to the moment, and they scored a try off his errors.

In the end, he's a good athlete, but not a great footballer, and that's proven by the fact he's only managed to get 12 first grade games from 4 clubs. Great talent? Sure, let's take the opinion of some armchair coaches over that of the coaching staff from 4 diff clubs.

Everyone is capable of brain snaps. **** even Hodges in SOO had 2 brain snaps in one game leading to 2 tries, and Slater on quite a few occasions has had howlers.

Im in no way comparing them 2 to Lett. There is no comparison. But with game time and experience, those snaps will be few and far between. What he lacks can be taught. In defence he isnt that bad. Its the high ball. The whole team has that problem. Not just him.

Like what others have said, its more mentality. It most likely is he doesnt like to put in, in training. Im positive if he did then he would be in the NRL and not languishing in NSW Cup.

In the NSW Cup grand final Lett scored two tries and set up another. What more does a Bulldog winger have to do for the Bulldogs to want him. From NRL performances and the NSW Cup GF, the wingers they've got should be rated as Turner 1st, Lett 2nd, Daylight 3rd with Wright and Goodwin out of a place.
