Hello guys,

I know alot of people here are passionate about the origin vs international issue. I also am big on this so on behalf of the Kennel i emailed Peter Vlandys with our thoughts on this. I hope this gets the ball rolling.

As much as this thread seems like a bit of a piss take, it does annoy me a bit that we allow players into origin who have no interest in playing for Australia. I used to always think city vs country was an origin selection game, origin a selection game for the Australian team.

It's a pity that these concepts have given way to simply being a cash grab

Same here. Origin should be just an Australian thing.

I personally don't care about it being an Aussie trial I just want the true NSW vs QLD hatred and I don't think you get that by allowing players who play for other countries in.

City vs Country was not a real origin selection which is part of the reason it got abandoned. JAC was always gunna be picked for Australia regardless of not playing SOO. A good performance in SOO always helped but was never a selection trial for the Australian team. The ANZAC test was played before Origin. Selectors picked players for Australia who had done the job before and players who had performed well through out the season (or had connections to the coach) with the premiers generally always getting some players in.

I dont think that the Samoan boys could represent Western Sydney any harder. NSW players have rarely hated QLD. The whole concept is based on QLD hating the Blues. IMO, the fight being taken out of origin has watered down the concept and turned it into a glorified NRL game with the best players (or coaches favourites) in the game. Limiting players who elect to play for the country will destroy the concept of SOO or destroy international footy.

The White knights vs the Black spirit preparing a fake email is a lot of effort to start a thread appreciate your efforts to entertain. The origin eligibility will be discussed heavily I assume because there are a lot of media and NSW supporters unhappy that there are players that have played fir the blues who elect to play for their culture and not Australia. Queensland have never cared about anything except beating the blues.

The NRL is cucked because over 40% of players are Poly so the idea of state of origin is going to become outdated eventually as the number rises and superstars like Lolo and English folk can't take part in it.
