Two sides who made plenty of
headlines in the off-season for their recruitment sprees go head-to-head at Belmore Sports Ground in Round 3 after both coming off vastly different performances.

The Bulldogs caused an upset win over the Storm with new recruits Viliame Kikau and Reed Mahoney showing their worth at AAMI Park to help give Cameron Ciraldo his first win in charge of the blue and whites.

Wests Tigers only have themselves to blame for surrendering two matches at Leichhardt Oval in the past fortnight with their expansive style of play coached by Tim Sheens in the summer clearly not working in the early stages.

An afternoon at Belmore, in front of a packed pro-Bulldogs crowd, is only going to add to the pressure on Sheens' side to turn the result around while Ciraldo's men will be looking to improve on their disappointing recent record at the venue.

Team news
Bulldogs: Minimal changes expected with Tevita Pangai Junior (calf) likely to be another week away. Veteran Josh Reynolds (groin) could be available but Cameron Ciraldo seems likely to stick solid with the squad that upset Melbourne.

Wests Tigers: Jake Simpkin and Tommy Talau are expected to miss the game after picking up head knocks against Newcastle according to Sheens. Englishman John Bateman is nearing a return to the NRL and could be named in the extended squad on Tuesday.

Stat Attack-

The Bulldogs have won only one of their past nine games at Belmore.

Wests Tigers will play at Belmore Sports Ground for the first time.

Bulldogs centre Jake Averillo has scored four tries in his past three games against Wests Tigers.

Prop David Klemmer is the only Tigers player who has played an NRL game at Belmore.

Bulldogs hooker Reed Mahoney has scored a try in three of his past four games against the Tigers.

If we can put cleaners through tigers then that will be huge for us .
Bulldogs go through motions normally in these shitty games and we generally suck and either just win or loose.
If ciro has some how put a different mentality into the boys and we can pump tigers on our turf ,the curse will be lifted and here come the bulldogs .

The Tigers will also be missing -
Isaiah Papali'i (Wests Tigers)Grade 2 Dangerous ContactGuilty - early plea1 match

Big Danger game mentally IMO - I'll take a win by 2, but obviously like everyone I'm hoping for a smash up in our favour.

Don’t care what the score is, as long as we win! After seeing the tigers pathetic performance against the knights .. you feel we have this one in the bag! Especially if the boys start how they did last week.
The feeling we have it in the bag thing is what worries me. We need the team to prepare like it's a finals match every week even if we face a supposedly easy to beat team.

We'd have taken confidence from the win on Saturday. But that can be detrimental if it's not kept in check. They need to remember that it's not just going to fall into place without the effort.

These type of game are hard to get up for when your playing a team on your level

Easy to be up when playing a top side

CC will have his work cut out this week

Shouldn’t be hard to get up for this one considering it’s our first game of the year at Belmore and the players know the fans deserve a strong win on home soil. It’s been way too long.

Our defence has been a lot better this season. Tigpies don't have the muscle to beat us through the middle (which says a lot), so I expect they'll stick to the expansive footy they attempted against the Knights. If we're resolute in defence, we'll probably force a lot of errors. The only way Tigpies get up is if we go in to it expecting to win and don't really show up.

If tigers forwards aren't going to use a power game up the middle and exploit our thin middles with the forwards we have out(Thompson, TPJ, Patolo) then they will have no chance.

100% dogs should be up for this. Long overdue for a win at Belmore and our confidence would probably be high.

If we can't win this week it will define the rest of our year and show last week was a one off against a weakened side...
Need to build/keep the momentum going from last week if we're to make the semis....

This is as ‘must win’ as it gets. Struggling Tigers side with players missing. We lose and it cements our position as a bottom 4 team. A win creates momentum though into another very winnable game the week after vs warriors. A 3-1 start is very doable
