Martial arts teacher jailed for sex with student

A school integration aide who had sex with a teenage student has been jailed for three years.
Beau Campbell, 31, who was also a martial arts instructor at the school in Melbourne's outer-east, began exchanging text messages with the 16-year-old student during last summer's school holidays, the Victorian County Court was told.
The messages became increasingly raunchy and the couple sent pictures of their genitals to each other.
On January 22 last year Campbell picked up the girl in his car and drove her to his home.
He then began touching the girl, before having sex with her.
The girl's parents contacted police after seeing messages from him in the girl's phone.
Campbell, who is married and now works for a pest control company, pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual penetration of a 16-year-old child under his care.
Judge Wendy Wilmoth said on Friday a message needed to be sent to the community that such behaviour was very serious.
"It is clear that you did understand at the time of offending that what you did was wrong," Judge Wilmoth said.
"Your behaviour caused very great distress to the complainant herself and her parents.
"It is clear you committed a gross breach of trust in offending in the way you did."
Judge Wilmoth suspended two years of the sentence which will allow Campbell, whose address was withheld in court, to be eligible for release in one year.
