Hi Guys,

These figuers are just my thoughts and based on what has being reported in the news. I thought I would put this together because some news outlets are reporting that they have comes to terms with Brett Stewart, Matai & Williams close to signing. I have just done the top 14 from their side and the total comes to $5,000,000. There is still another 11 players they need to fit in there as well.

Please plug in your own thoughts and comment?

1 Kieran Foran $650,000
2 Daly Cherry-Evans $500,000
3 Brett Stewart $450,000
4 Glenn Stewart $350,000
5 Anthony Watmough $350,000
6 Tony Williams $300,000
7 Matt Balin $300,000
8 Jason King $300,000
9 Brent Kite $300,000
10 David Williams (wolfman) $350,000
11 Darcy Lusick $250,000
12 Jamie Lyon $350,000
13 Steve Matai $300,000
14 George Rose $250,000
Only 14 players $5,000,000

Absolute guesswork. I have no idea about each contract, and don't pretend to. Besides, the complexity of back ended deals, third party agreements (and Foran's is reported to be heavily dependent on these) and long-tenured player cap relief make the whole thing a hell of a lot more complex than you're making out.

Play the same game with Melbourne or Brisbane. If you just guess figures and don't take into account sponsors' inputs and long-tenure deductions, you'll sail past the salary cap.

Some guys would be on 'front' or 'back loaded' contracts, also is this what they are getting paid this year or next. And some would have 3rd party help as well, so until the NRL auditors come out and say that they are over it's all assumption.

#1, #2, and #3 are correct (as reported by media). Wolfman would only be on $250k odd.

That said how much of that is cap VS third party deals it's hard to say.

But you'd think keeping the same roster and increasing some salaries significantly, that they would be getting close.

Also the salary cap is $5.25 million over 25 players these days, with a $350k second tier cap.

I doubt they can keep everybody, but who knows these days. Salary cap is a strange thing.

Wolfman $350? haha way off i reckon. No winger is worth $350 a year. Not under the current cap anyway.

You're right, no winger is worth $350.

If I was Wolfman, I would demand at least $465 a year or else I'm gone.

Trex has bought a house on the northern beaches and is very happy there, he will stay along with Matai.

You make it sound as if they'll be one happy, cohabiting couple...

He can car pool with Des ;)
lol but Des is too much of a tightarse to let someone else ride with him, it would waste too much extra fuel. I see Tony alot in Parramatta so at least you guys know he is willing to cross the spit bridge.

Because the cost of fuel rises if you have more people in your car...

I think he meant it would make the car slightly heavier hence more fuel being used.......
