He has to be better than Fittler. State coach doesnt have to teach the players how to play. They only have to play the right players in the right positions, and use the bench properly. Thats about it. Fittler liked playing favourites of his in the team out of position to get them in the side, when there were specialists in those positions available who would have been better. He also used the bench horribly.

Agree. I've always wondered how he became captain at such a young age yet seemed so immature.

I'm certain that he selected players because he enjoyed the way their names roll off his tongue. I'm not going to tout Mcquire as the saviour. I'm not keen on him as a coach. But I think he's going to be far better than Laurie Daley and Fittler were.
