I think it’s Gus trying to get one more shot once he leaves us, if he can make it a decent hooker than his prospects go up.

While he’s not a half and lacks any real 1st grade ability, outside of the game he’s not a bad person and I do have some empathy for him.

If he can become a decent hooker elsewhere than all the best, I’d have no reason to hate on him outside the club.

It shows the good leadership characteristics of Gus and Ciro by simply working with Flanno and trying something new with him by giving him the opportunity to play hooker rather than not giving up on him like most would. If Flanno proves he can be a good hooker than good on him.

He seems like a good kid who just wants to play football.

No one can question Flanagans effort and desire and wish him every success in his new role.
Good nrl hookers need to have above average pace and the ability to play eyes up instinctive footy two qualities Flanagan sadly lacks.
