Maybe but relying on just that is reckless not to mention young halves almost always struggle to develop without experience alongside them. This is why I hated the Burton deal, the bloke literally needs his hand held during games which makes trying to blood a young half alongside him almost suicide.

I honestly think if burton stayed at panthers in the 6 over Luai we would be saying Luai isn’t as good as burton because cleary and the pack and backs and roster panthers have had is light years ahead of what we have given Burton. He’s one shining light was fox and he used him pretty well.

Hopefully the halves academy they’ve set up helps prepare them, because we’re not in a position to blood young halves atm.
if a young half comes into a poor side, they’ll be the first one crucified by the fans and media. Case in point, Toby Sexton is only 22 and people are already saying “he’s not the answer”.
Gus has said many times “we give up on halves way too early”.
