We can't afford to give him another year, our 2025 recruitment/roster plans start in November this year. By the time we know if Sexton is the answer or not (he's not) there would be nothing left on the market.

So we just keep churning through players that could be decent resulting in a pile of Coggers?
We can't pin our hat to expectations of the next immortal coming through our doors for $150k for the next 5 years as a junior.
We have to be realistic.

I personally think we dont need any halves atm, we can make do until O'Neil and Karl if he can play again develop in the lower grades along with the other younger halves we have

Cogger would of never been good here, same as Meaney, same as JMK. We can't pin our hat on the next immortal coming through hence our need to buy a marquee.

Never is a strong word, my friend.
Are you sure that you can guarantee that?
What if we recruit him and he plays a serviceable position in the future?

We need patience first and foremost.
Time to allow junior players to develop, time for recruited players to adapt to our standards and culture, and time for our coach to change the culture of the recent former coaches that have us this position.

Junior development happens underneath the NRL team for the most part. We can't wait around hoping one will come good. We also need to bring juniors into a team with a good/competitive base. We need an experienced quality half desperately.
