Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. A bad winner, him and Mitchell and the rest of them. Won't forget him claiming we'd done 4 or 5 hip-drops, whilst our rookie Preston awaited a match review outcome for a non-one.
Remember him complaining that he does not train his team to practice hip-drop tackles. (Hinting other teams like Dogs do.) Perhaps the question should have been, "do you practice elbows & other Grub tactics... you seem to be good at it. "

Demitriou is a first class tosser with “little man”syndrome - one would think someone who played league would know two things on the subject of “hip drops” 1. They are generally subconsciously executed, the mindset is getting the player to the ground by whatever means and a smaller player often uses their weight to help them get stronger, bigger players grounded, this has happened since 1908. 2. “Hip drops” happen every few tackles, the only time it’s scrutinised is when a player grabs at their leg like it got attacked by Pitbull.

To say “hip drops” are coached is moronic.

Couldn't see this posted and couldn't find a better thread. Liam Knight did a podcast episode with Russell Manser (released Oct 9): https://open.spotify.com/episode/4xaynKWs84Lq5RF9XUFUyV

It's mostly about mental health, upbringing, and his pre-bulldogs background, which isn't a bad listen by any means, but it won't scratch the itch for people fiending for Bulldogs news and content.
I didn't pay full attention as I was writing a document at the same time, so unless I have missed something, these were the main take-aways for the future:
- He's been keeping himself fit and healthy during off-season, abstaining from alcohol, whilst still enjoying leisure time
- This will be Liam's first full pre-season in a number of years (previously injured/recovering from surgeries)
- He's keen for it (it's 6 weeks away from time of recording) and plans to rip in and prove Gus right (among others) for believing in him and giving him a chance
- He's also keen to more properly meet the squad and bond with them over pre-season
- He's doing everything he can to set himself up for a big season '24

Same rhetoric from every player.

What is important is that most (if not all) players will come into pre-season and new actual season with a sense of willingness and desire.

It is up to the coaches to keep it going throughout the season and manage the players so there is no burnout or loss in confidence.

This season was a disaster in that regard. We competed up to around the halfway point of the season and then fell away badly.

Can't do that again otherwise the coaches techniques will certainly be under the spotlight.

Injuries, results and media scrutiny seemed to break their spirit, Having such an inexperienced team wouldn't have helped.
