Knights youngster airlifted after injury

A Newcastle Knights youth player has been airlifted from the field of play at Olympic Park, Muswellbrook on Saturday night with a suspected spinal injury.

Tye Alchin, 19, was injured during the National Youth Competition (under-20) rugby league trial match against the Cronulla Sharks.

The Knights medical staff took the precautionary measure to have the teenager transported to John Hunter Hospital.

Nasty - Fingers crosssed for the Knights kiddy.

I still remember a Bulldogs player getting airlifted out of Belmore in a lower grades game during the 80's. His name was Matthew and I dont think he walked properly again.
