BULLDOGS enforcer David Klemmer is facing another stint on the sidelines after placing his hands on referee Ben Cummins during his side’s defeat of the Panthers on Thursday night.
Klemmer has been hit with a grade one contrary conduct charge for a second-half incident at Pepper Stadium where he remonstrated with lead official Cummins, touching the whistleblower on the chest while teammate Josh Reynolds was down injured in back play.
Due to carry-over points resulting from three offences in the past two seasons — with his involvement in the infamous Good Friday incident last year classed as a similar offence — Klemmer will cop a one-game ban with an early guilty plea, or face a two-week suspension if he fights the charge unsuccessfully.
More to come.
What a joke. When did this even happen. James Graham no charge
