© Fox Sports Parramatta forward Frank Pritchard accused Bulldog enforcer David Klemmer of biting him on the face. Parramatta forward Frank Pritchard accused Bulldog enforcer David Klemmer of biting him on the face in his side’s win over the Bulldogs but then retracted the allegation and refused to make a formal complaint to the referee.
Parramatta were comfortably in front 16-0 about ten minutes into the second half when substitute Pritchard went in to make a tackle on Klemmer resulting in the Eels player having his face centimetres away from the Canterbury lock’s mouth.
Replays following the play appear to show Klemmer’s mouth coming in contact with Pritchard’s face but the Eels player barely reacted to the alleged bite and continued to play on until the Bulldogs lost the ball and Parramatta were awarded the scrum.
The referee’s microphone picked up the whistle blower addressing Pritchard’s concern over the alleged bite.
“He bit you on the face? Do you want to make an allegation?” asked referee Grant Atkins.
ore media crap its alleged that klemmer bite frank Pritchard on the face .
© AAP Image Replays following the play appear to show Klemmer’s mouth coming in contact with Pritchard’s face. Pritchard clearly didn’t want to take it any further with his team up by 16 points at the time but his first inclination was to report it to the referee.
Nine commentator Ray Hadley seemed surprised by what he’d heard and repeated the referee’s line of questioning to Prichard.
Klemmer didn’t seem to fazed by any claims being thrown around with the Canterbury forward smiling to the referee as he chatted to him for a brief moment before taking his place in the defensive line for the scrum.
Canterbury's third loss in a row will only fuel speculation about coach Des Hasler's future.
Hasler rolled the dice by shifting centre Chase Stanley to halfback and dropping hooker Michael Lichaa however his side never had a chance after making 11 errors.
