Go well young man if he does show something in lower grades unfortunately won’t get a look in until after round 10.

We have an exemption because of all our injured forwards. That’s how tanner was playing.

Think the exemption applies for individuals only ie tanner and is assessed on a case by case basis. Is not a universal exemption so would need another exemption for kk or whoever was next in line otherwise they wait until after round 10.

Maybe Gus will nudge someone from the Top30 like he did with Naden, Ava, Schoupp, Allan & BBO. Just guessing as Brandon Clarke was not named in any grade at the weekend so who knows what will happen before round 11????

How Dogs got their man
A couple of weeks ago we revealed how the Bulldogs had managed to lure young Tigers sensation Kitione Kautoga to the club from 2024.

At the time, the Tigers had put a $160,000 transfer fee on the Fijian for an immediate release. The Dogs wouldn’t budge. A week later the Tigers had agreed to release Kautoga immediately to Newcastle for $50,000.

The Dogs heard about the deal and agreed to pay the $50,000 themselves, bringing Kautoga to Belmore immediately.

Kautoga made his one and only NRL appearance for the Tigers against the Dragons in round 24 last year. The forward scored four tries in his first two games of NSW Cup for the Tigers this year.

Looks a promising edge player and importantly a try-scorer with another 2 tries yesty.
Didn't micro analyse his game or stats though.

Has a knack for scoring tries, however in cup Topine goes way better. With Skelton, Topine, Oko etc missing from our edges we lacked a bit of punch. Hoffman and this bloke wernt providing much apart from diving on the ball.

He was remarkably uninvolved for the first half or so, but that can happen in your first game at a new club. He got more involved later in the game but the most impressive thing is his knack for scoring.

Why are people so worried about Okunbur? I’d be more worried about using a bench spot for Josh Reynolds when it’s clear we needed to load up on forwards…

Jayden has played in the forwards before + he’s certainly big enough to handle it.

Josh’s selection, however, is plain stupidity… either play him in place of Flanno or don’t play him at all, we need 4 big bodies on the bench… we’re flogging King, Sutton, Kiks and RFM. Looks like those guys are going to have to play near 80 mins again since Pele is good for 20mins and Reynolds is a half back up unless the plan is to rest Mahoney?

My guess is JR to give Mahoney a rest at some stage and also be there to cover injuries. If a back goes down Burton can shift to centre and JR to 5/8.
