NRL may be caught with their pants down on this one. The salary cap was meant to even the competition. Their rules has pretty much done the opposite with the Bulldogs. They now are happy to force a team to count 1.2 million with one player as part of the salary cap for 2020 while knowing that ZERO games will be played for the Club in that year by that player. They therefore give every other team a 15% advantage over a team in rebuild. Well done NRL!
So NRL, if you really wanted to even the competition, accidently trampling over Clubs who lose their best player for the entire year is hardly achieving your objective is it?
If the NRL do not update their rules to cater for these situations, then they will be the laughing stock of all sporting codes and NRL fans.
