Reports in the UK suggest that Canterbury Bulldogs hooker and Tongan International Sione Katoa will sign for 2022 season with Super League side St Helens.
Found this on twitter from a rugby league reporter in the UK
Fucking pathetic hooker

Katoa was involved in all the tries scored against us with missed tackles. Surely Baz knows this. Just an awful player for the dogs

DOGS ADMIRE BRONCOS PAIR

Bulldogs football manager Peter Sharp and chairman John Khoury took time out of their Magic Round weekend in Brisbane to head and watch Broncos feeder club South Logan Magpies.

The Magpies laid on a clinic against the PNG Hunters, with lock Kobe Hetherington and Cory Paix, a halfback converted into a hooker by Anthony Seibold, impressing.

Hetherington made his debut for Broncos and Paix followed it up, bagging two tries against the Central Queensland Capras this weekend just gone.

Hetherington is only signed to a development deal with the Broncos, while Paix, who played 13 games for the club last season but has yet to play NRL this year, is contracted with the club until the end of 2022.

The Bulldogs are yet to make a call on their No. 9 for next year and are actively in the market for a hooker.

Sione Katoa looks destined to head to Super League club St Helens and link with his Tonga coach, Kristian Woolf, next year.

Jeremy Marshall-King has not played since Round 3, while development-contracted Brad Deitz has impressed the Bulldogs with the glimpses he has shown in first grade.

It was like they both read TK and made a pact to let in the winning try to give it back to us fans bagging them
Nah mate don't give them that credit. They are both shit and can't tackle, period.

Update on St Helens' 'interest' in NRL star Sione Katoa

St Helens, like every other club in Super League, are plotting and planning their recruitment for 2022.

But recent reports that they're interested in signing Tonga international Sione Katoa are wide of the mark.

Speculation has run rife in recent days that Saints are chasing the Canterbury Bulldogs hooker, who is off-contract with the NRL club at the end of the season.

However, sources down under have told Rugby League Live that the reports are untrue and there has been no contact at all with the Super League champions & is in fact likely to be re-signed by the Bulldogs.

James Roby and Aaron Smith remain under contract for next season and while Saints are keeping tabs on the market, Katoa is not in their sights.

Katoa has worked with coach Kristian Woolf at international level, which is where the link is thought to have come. However, Katoa won't be heading to the Totally Wicked Stadium to reunite with the Tonga coach.

I'd backflip to. They should sack whoever's involved with their recruitment team for thinking he was a good signing at any point.
