Juventus: Season 2010-11

Not happy with the summer transfers AT ALL. We've bought some average players who will not bring us a Scudetto. Don't know why the hell they sold Diego, when he could easily have fit into a 4-4-2 set up of sorts. Lacking any kind of creative ability in the midfield now that he's gone.

Also, too many f*cking loans happening. Attract players who you want to sign outright, not bandaid fixes. Quagliarella, Motta, Pepe and Aquilani are the only decent gains anyway, and they're all loans deals.

Lost 1-0 away to Bari in the first round. Hopeless display if you actually watched it. Terrible.

Transfers In:

Armand Traore (Arsenal) - Loan
Leandro Rinaudo (Napoli) - Loan
Fabio Quagliarella (Napoli) - Loan
Alberto Aquilani (Liverpool) - Loan
Marco Motta (Udinese) - Loan
Jorge Martinez (Catania) - Transfer - €12,000,000
Leonardo Bonucci (Bari) - Transfer - €15,500,000
Davide Lanzafame (Palermo) - Loan
Marco Storari (AC Milan) - Transfer - €4,500,000
Simone Pepe (Udinese) - Loan

Transfers Out:

Jonathan Zebina (Brescia) - Free
Mauro Camoranesi (Stuttgart) - Transfer
David Trezeguet (Hercules) - Transfer
Diego (Wolfsburg) - Transfer - €15,000,000
Tiago (Atletico Madrid) - Loan
Albin Ekdal (Bologna) - Co-ownership
Christian Poulsen (Liverpool) - Transfer - €4,500,000
Sebastian Giovinco (Parma) - Loan
Sergio Almiron (Bari) - Transfer - €5,000,000
Lorenzo Ariaudo (Cagliari) - Co-ownership
Cristian Molinaro (Stuttgart) - Transfer - €3,900,000

Well as far as i know, all of the loan deals are with options to buy so I don't see why it's as much of a problem as you seem to suggest. I think Juventus are going through financial problems at the moment so I think there is a reason behind loaning players first of all.

Diego didn't fit the Juventus system to begin with, was very much a buy that was not needed to begin with.

Looks a decent team in my opinion. Bonucci is a very good player.

At least the future is looking a little brighter now for Juve fans. Made some good signings, and have plenty of cash left for 1 or 2 world-class players (given that no one has been sold yet, but there'll be more than a few). We have signed:

Andrea Pirlo - Free
Reto Ziegler - Free
Michele Pazienza - ?
Alessandro Matri - €15.5 million
Fabio Quagliarella - €10.5 million
Simone Pepe - €7.5 million
Marco Motta - €4 million
Michel Bastos - (imminent)
Gokhan Inler - (negotiations)

We still need a couple world-class signings, and I reckon we're gonna be back towards the top. We're currently looking at blokes like Aguero, Neymar, and Tevez among others...

With us signing Henderson (fmd!) It looks like the aquaman will leave but not sure what's his situation right now between Liverpool and Juve

Very little chance with any of them because two are Real targets and the other probably would be if he wasn't likely to stay at City.

Yeah, I'm not rating our chances of getting any of them, but simply telling people who might not know much about Juve that were looking for higher calibre players such as the ones mentioned.

This is interesting. In fact, is this why Liverpool have been stockpiling midfielder that we thought they didn't need? Are they going to sell one of them? One of the better ones as well.

The Daily Mirror reports that Juventus have made a bid for Raul Meireles of some cash, plus Felipe Melo.

Liverpool turned their nose up at that offer, but have told Juve that they will think about a straight cash bid for the Portuguese midfielder, and could accept £13.5million.

Interesting.

The paper claims: 'The club's logic is that they can afford to because they have plenty of cover in midfield...With Lucas and Steven Gerrard shoo-ins in the middle, this leaves Meireles surplus to requirements along with Christian Poulsen and Alberto Aquilani.

'Liverpool have had no success in offloading Poulsen and Aquilani and Meireles is much more marketable after starring in the second half of last season.'

Incidentally, the same story is in about four other papers, so there's either something in it, or the same source has been a little loose with who he/she has been speaking to.

As an aside, Melo isn't at all happy about being touted around, it seems.
The Mirror quotes him as saying: "Let us say that Juve are not respecting me, or at least that's the impression I get," he fumed.

"I'm not just anyone. I'm not a bargaining chip to be used to reach anybody."

Fk I hope we sign Neymar. As long as he tones down the diving. He'll get booked every week otherwise.

Juve's parent company exor has just granted them 120mil. About half for debts and the rest for new marquee players signings. Woot!

I'm sure he'd fit in fine in Italy...

although I only see Neymar signing for Real.
