Josh Curran Best Postion

Needs to play in the middle. He can play on an edge and he can run a good hole/line however doesn't seem to be as explosive as he used to be now he seems to have trimmed down so much. Seems super fit through so in the middle is his spot.

He should do what he done last season.

CC seems happy with what Curran does. So he seems to suit the system and style of play CC is asking for and physical demands of the six agains while they're here (for now). Smart and hard and finds holes. Team player and adaptable, so if someone else is playing his prop role they'd have big shoes to fill, minimal six agains, line speed, etc then Curran will fill another area we need, he's able to do that.

For now he should play what he was doing last season, that prop role whether starting or off the bench.

Doesn't mean he starts, could also come off the bench. Kikau contract also expires end of next season.

When the news we are shopping a player around my mind went straight to Kiks. Not that he is bad. But I think a lot of money is tied up into him and with A few kids coming through the club sent a feeler out?

Makes more sense than Reed. Mahoney was our starting and 80 min hooker. And the top tackler in the comp.

I think Kikau will definately be at the club this season, he still has an important role to play for us. And likely will be there next year too. Anything beyond that though, I doubt. He'd be 32 in 2027, I can see him going to the UK after his current deal expires.

I would play him front row second row lock he ticks all the boxes he played a lot of foward last year..

I saw Preston at the pool the other day he has definitely lost weight 100% looks lighter than last year quicker maybe to hit the gaps!!!!

Start him in 13.. Then bring on Satili and Mann around tired bodies.

This is how I would play him also. He is a tough unsung champion in our team. I know he was already extended for another year last year. I would be trying to lock him up on a long term deal. Particularly that I couldn’t imagine his dollars are high. His problem is actually his versatility.

Have him do the early hard yards in the middle at 13. Give him a break at the back end of the half. With the second half almost being unscripted for him. Come on and do a job wherever the need is.

Mann coming on against some tiring teams will be perfect to maximise his output. With Todd looking good I think he might slip into this role from 26 onwards. With Mann not getting any younger.

Na better off playing Haywood @ lock, don't be silly.

Extremely valuable player in our 17 or even starting at 13.Will play here another 5 years at least and certainly can play edge too, last year was also OUTSTANDING when he played prop for Kingy I love the bloke.
He needs to be resigned long term... Only signed until end of 26 so come November clubs will come knocking

Its funny actually... we were worried last year about the lock position and the future of it, now we are looking at 3,4 maybe 5 contenders with kids like Todd and even Marshall down the line.

Would love to see a combo of Curran/Mann and Todd floating, then like you said Curran/Todd once Mann is done. When Marshall comes to the party might have to shake things u again hence why these blokes contracts arent exactly long termers... I think the club has already some what planned for this.

But it won't matter anyways by then will be back to back champs and players will be begging to play for us

Mann will be 32 before the season starts plus his contract expires at the end of the year, so safe to say he isn't the long term option.

There's always some need for old heads in the team. I'm not sure what plans the club has, but I trust them to make good decisions a lot more than I did a few years ago.

I remember he mentioned on a podcast that he signed with the dogs and he sold himself as a lock. For mine he’s too slow for an edge. Middle suits him perfectly. Love his role off the bench for us. He’s got that dawg in him!

Going to sound weird but for me it's no17, and what I mean by this is he covers everything but long term he probably doesn't start in a 13, your bench is as critical as your starters. He comes on as the middle rotation, can shift to an edge if need be.
As I have said before, with all of our players available our bench will be second to none.
Much different from years previous.
Opposing coaches will have a bigger headache forming tactics against them than the run on side.
When Kiraz and Stili return the 17 will be even more formidable

His fav position is lock but because last year we had no props he was forced to play there. I like him on a edge also

Yet we play Haywood there

Back to back to back to back to back... we have to beat riffs 4 in a row lol

Once we have a fully fit squad i think he drops out... he is a reggie.. I'm positive they know that.
Lock is too important a position to have him there...

Yes, you have made your point, numerous times.

Truth be told Hayward is a good link man and fantastic at cleaning up unfinished tackles.

As a dominant lock who owns the middle and constantly asks questions, he will never be. More likely to knock himself out trying one of his duck head first into tackles.

13. Curran

14. Mann
15. Tupouniua
16. Todd
17. Hayes

Or

13. Mann

14. Hayward
