Jackson has a life time job at Bulldogs. NRL will be looking closely at the deal.

The Bulldogs are furiously denying any suggestions that the retirement of club legend Josh Jackson was done to ease salary cap pressure.
It’s an interesting one because their general manager of football Phil Gould has to shed players at Belmore even with Jackson’s $650,000 contract coming out of the salary cap.
The likes of Luke Thompson, Corey Allan and Kyle Flanagan are in the firing line.
The Bulldogs have added Billy Kikau (Panthers), Reed Mahoney (Eels), Ryan Sutton (Raiders), Andrew Davey (Sea Eagles), Hayze Perham and Franklin Pele (Cronulla) and Jacob Preston (Roosters).
They cannot have more than 30 players registered.
This is a situation the NRL will no doubt be monitoring. It’s a little bit murky because not even CEO Aaron Warburton or chairman John Khoury know exactly where their cap sits. They leave it all to Gus.

The Bulldogs are saying Jackson made the decision to retire and insist he wasn’t pushed. That after 11 seasons and 241 games his body could not cope with another 12 months of body contact.
It’s a huge call on his behalf to give up a wage of $650,000. It also gets tricky because Canterbury wants to give Jackson a job. He has a degree in exercise science.

Rival clubs are watching this one closely.
We’ve seen it happen before where clubs have encouraged players to retire to ease pressure on the salary cap and then employ them elsewhere in the business.

Clubs need the NRL’s permission to do so.

What a salty **** Buzz is. How about you talk about Souths doing it with about 4 fucking players in the past decade. Salty sand and straight spirits is filled within Buzz’s vagina the ****.

Can’t prove a thing, and if the NRL say Jacko can’t be immediately employed by the Dogs, then he sits out 12mths or with Gus’s connections Jacko might end up with a 12mth apprentice at another club.

It's funny how the red nose alcoholic **** only sees what we do....wouldn't have something to do with his hatred towards Gus and how he makes him look like a dick every single time he opens his mouth about our club. Why didn't you make a story in 2016 about your gummies and how they were over the cap all year and when they got in the finals, they miraculously got under so they wouldn't kick them out. What a bunch of cheating fucks and the NRLOL let them get away with it....fucking inbred hicks!!

The porch light is still on as far as I am concerned.

Haha who honestly gives a fuck what the reason was, the NRL can go and get fucked.

Our club could have cheated the cap and got a slap on the wrist like Parra did many years ago, but no, we released all our good players and suffered ever since.

Also South Sydney were allowed to offer S.Burgess and Inglis the golden handshake without question from head office.

Gussy on good terms with Vlandys so I think we will be ok. If Jackos body is that banged up and he pulls the pin early and takes a job with the club on 1/4 of the salary but he’s doing what he loves I don’t think that’s illegal. Just easy money for Rothfield because bulldogs news sell papers.

Love how he says Warburton and Khoury don’t know what the cap is like. Buzz you dickhead 17 clubs don’t know what the cap is like for next season because the incompetence of the NRL means the cap hasn’t been set for next year! Dickhead.
