Beat Knights by 50
Beat Raiders by 50

Will this work ??
if newcastle or souths dont beat brisbane and then win in round 26 it probably will

but we can do it with less effort if brisbane or souths decide to help us out

our season is not over yet, even if newcastle win against brisbane

lets win by 30 points next week and see what happens

tomorrow night Newcastle 20-16 brisbane

next week Bulldogs 46-12, Brisbane 30-12 Souths

Final Round Bulldogs 34-6 and Souths 26-8 win over newcastle

yes baby

btw these results mean we comfortably make it, so shave a few points here and there and we still make it
Lets do what the South African Super 15 team the Bulls did a few years ago...

I think they were coming 5th before the game and needed to win their final game
to make the finals.... they towelled up the Reds 97 to 3 and not only made the
final 4.... helped their for and against to make them finish 2nd.....

Lets put 90 on the Raiders in the final game =P .....

update, it definately isnt over now

8. Newcastle 26 (+29)
9. Souths 26 (-3)
10. Bulldogs 24 (-64)

i hear people talking about "i hope we beat newcastle so souths can get their spot"

well you bunch of idiots, why cant we take their spot

brisbane beat souths 30-6

bulldogs beat knights 24-16

souths beat newcastle 22-18

which means we need beat canberra by 34 points!!!!, we will know we need to beat canberra by 34 points

if we manage to beat newcastle by 20 points instead of 8 then we only require a 22 win over canberra

you guys gave up too soon

Rod, believe me I hope you are right but we probably have more chance of hoping Knights and Rabbits have a draw after extra time then all those equations coming through.

note: I will be more than happy to eat a dozen Humble Pies if the miracle occurs

you know i thought it was a miracle type situation when i made this thread but now it has been upgraded to 30% chance when i realised that we only need to beat the souths for and against

is inglis and merritt still out for next week anyone know?

They will both play, as will Asotasi. Unfortunately I think the Rabbits might get the win
well if they win then that dampens my dreams :p

but tbh lets just destroy the knights by 40, that will make it newcastle (-11) bulldogs (-24) and that will help matters greatly whatever the souths brisbane result

Asotasi will see a specialist on Wednesday I think it is but he is more than likely to play along with Inglis. Merritt is 50/50 and Dave Taylor won't train till late in the week. Thank God we have the long turn around. Go the Doggies on Saturday though!

Can't we just belt the Knights and Raiders by say 30+ each and assume Souths lose to Brisbane and then our for and against will be superior to the Souths and Knights who will play out a close game. Voila and we are in.

The fact people are saying that we can win by 30+ is laughable.

yes thats what im getting at but ive made close scores to add a bit of realism

beating newcastle by 30 then canberra by 30 would bring us just short of newcastle even if they only beat souths by 1 point (Even to our -4)

i think our way in is through a souths narrow win on the final day, after they get smashed by the broncos and we get our wins by 10-16 points or so

well i think we can easily do that against canberra if we play like we did against manly

canberra is the worst defensive team in the nrl, plus like i said we will go into that game with the forward knowledge of what is required

We need to win both our games (defeat Newcastle and Canberra).

Souths to lose to Brisbane.

Souths and Newcastle to play a draw in the final round then for and against doesn't matter.

Then we are in! It's only about 2000/1 against that happening

At least we still have a chance if we put a solid effort in next week. If we can win by 35, the F/A is pretty much double as we're playing Newcastle. Souths then lose to Brisbane and we know what we've gotta win by in the final game. What ewe do know is that if we beat Knights next week we definitely have a chance of making the 8 - it just depends how many points we'll need to rack up

Just once!
Round 7 Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs 36 - 24

We came close against the Titans and Roosters both times ended up with 28 pts.
