Carlin hit the end of his comedy line though. I saw Kevin Smith live last year and he covered it pretty well. He was good friends with Carlin for a long time and he said that Carlin was this happy comedian that just liked to piss people off. But over time he just got more and more angry at the world and became more and more political. By the end he was just this angry man that had no comedy left in him 'cause he was just so fed up with the world.
