Looking to get a new phone and see that this thing is out this week, neice has the ipod touch and I love the interface and was thinking about getting the phone from optus outright for 850 (16gb).

Anyone have any advice? Is the phone any better then the US release?

My advice, do your research before buy, mainly on plans, the iphone itself is pretty much an ipod touch with 3g and a phone.

Sorry i meant data plans. Your gunna wanna browse the net, and if you dont have a good data plan you will either get charged through the nose or wont use the net at all.


i think optus are releasing special iphone pre-paid packs and are offering free data till 31st aug if you buy an $80 pre-paid pack with the phone, and if u get this u can also get the phone unlocked for free.

Ah I see, was only planning to use the net via wifi at home so I probably wont be bothered with dataplans. Just want a decent phone with that crazy menu.

Great screen, i love it.
