IF BIG Jamal Idris leaves Canterbury, we reckon the Gold Coast will definitely be his new home.
A good mate of Idris told us the centre was mightily impressed with the Titans' set-up during his trip north last week, and rates their pitch better than Newcastle's.
The Bulldogs met Idris and his manager, Sam Ayoub, at Canterbury Leagues Club on Wednesday night, where an extension offer was finally tabled.
Bulldogs CEO Todd Greenberg, chairman Ray Dib and coach Kevin Moore laid on a slick power point presentation for the 20-year-old, who is expected to decide his future within the next week.
CANTERBURY have shut down any chance of Ben Roberts getting an NRL start elsewhere this season.
It's understood Gold Coast and Cronulla were keen to rescue the Kiwi international from NSW Cup purgatory behind new halves combo Kris Keating and Trent Hodkinson.
Roberts' manager fronted the Bulldogs earlier this week about the 25-year-old's first grade prospects.
While no release was requested, the club made it clear Roberts would be staying put after he sat out most of last season injured but on full pay.
