ffs humans have come a long way, we used to live in a cave to hide from the scary animals and because it was too cold, also when it thundered people used to think god was angry and sacrificed a baby

on paper there are some animals who should destroy us, they are faster and more powerful but we eventually won the animal war, coming out of the cave with tool and weapons development and going on to dominate

then fast forward to now we have developed an incredible communication network, we can travel quickly, we can sh!t comfortably, we have water on command, we have a bunch of retards on tv trying to entertain us and we have the ability to change the room air temperature

btw non of this is attributed to god or aliens ffs, like the aliens didnt build the pyramids tbh

what do you think will be the situation over the next few hundred years?, have we peaked or are we going to continue to move forward

btw a sidenote about sacrificing babies in response to lightning, i can imagine the debate in 7,000BC when people started moving away from that tradition

i reckon the religious conservative people of the day were outraged, similar to today when they remove prayer from schools etc

"ffs look at these people, they dont even kill babies anymore, god is going to get angrier"

We're at the top of the chain, so logic says our biggest threat is ourselves. The biggest tregedy of recent decades have mostly been man made.

We'll move forward until we blow ourselves up, or somehow manage to make earth unmanageable to live in.

Mechanical achievements will come later to be honest, it is the speed of medical and silicon based technological advancements that are truly amazing. One day people will be able to regrow limbs, talk to computers perfectly or even live forever (lets hope not).

I read somewhere that we only use 5 - 15% of our brains power, once people figure out how to unlock the rest of that power well alot of things will be solvable and doable. It will take a long time before this happens...

An even bigger myth/story. Einstein's anatomical make-up of his brain varied from the norm, but I don't know where that % came from.

The general 10/15/20% story is made up, with no physiological or scientific evidence. I don't know why it is so socially accepted as fact.

We can increase our mental ability, but not our mental potential (if that makes sense). We use all facets of our brain.

there is evidence to suggest some people are only using 15% of the brain, for example paul osbourne

i think telepathy will come with technology, like maybe a chip in the head replacing a mobile phone which sounds controversial but some people are already attached to their phones

btw i was reading something interesting as to explain why we see no evidence of advanced extratestical life if the universe is so big and old, we should see something like a dyson sphere or other man made things

the list of explanations is interesting, for example a civilisation will get wiped out before it can achieve it or maybe a civilisation gets distracted by entertainment, like if we on earth produced a perfect virtual reality system then it would drastically effect our society

for example the Rodzilla and many others would spend most of the day running the reverse gangbang program with 10 pornstars/hollywood actresses

To be honest I believe the universe is far too big for Earth to only have life on it, I believe life exists out there either in parallel universes or other galaxies. I just think religions (nothing wrong with faith) impact on society has kept people narrow minded on this subject.

We will never know until contact is reached haha!
