With an increased salary cap let's hope they do their sums so we can retain the bulk of the current side for several seasons, high player turnover reeks of a business orientated club with little loyalty, I would prefer to see character building amongst mates, isn't this the family club?

threads like this dont make a difference to whether we win or lose going forward lol, its as if you think kennel attitude has an on field effect

for example going into 2010 and maybe 2011 we were super confident of the premiership and had totally forgotten about the previous team we had lost

There is a good reason why they lost them, We lost our players because of plain stupidity.

Andrew Ryan and Luke Patten hung around but we dumped Utai as he was too eratic, we dumped Hughes for 'Mr I am fine but it hurts', we let Anasta go for Mason who decided he was in charge for a while, Folkes told O'Meley to take the Roosters big money and the stupidity goes on..

Utai's ankle was shot, bone on bone and he could hardly run. Full credit for him to have fought so hard to be playing now, that shows his grit.


O'Meley was coming off a double knee reconstruction and never lookeed the same player.

As good as they were before injury, it was the right decision to cut both loose.

Hughes was an almighty clubman, but his best playing days were behind him and it was time for him to pass on. It would have been great to see him go on his own terms and in hindsight the club probably would have been better off that way.

There is a good reason why they lost them, We lost our players because of plain stupidity.

We lost them for the exact same reasons the Storm lost theirs.

The Salary Cap.

Players who win a premiership usually command a lot more money than before, and if you actually compare the 2012 Storm team to the 2006 Storm team it'd be vastly different. The only difference is that some of our players decided to walk out on their contracts (Mason, SBW) and others fell hopelessly out of form.

It's been 8 years since 2004. IF you were to take into account all the player's ages at the time, the majority of them would be into their 30's. The youngest of that generation (SBW) is already 26 this year. Would you like to have an aging team playing for you?

I don't recall anyone sorely missing 1995 GF winning players like Jim Dymock, Jason Smith, Rod Silva, or Jason Hetherington before we won the 2004 grand final.
