Personally think they need to visit having games graded based on importance.

100 points - NRL regular season fixture
200 points - SOO/Finals wk 1-3
300 points - GF

So if you cop a 350 point in round 24 of the NRL season, you will miss the round 25 regular game, and week 1 of the finals - can play week 2, and have 50 carry over.
Once upon a time you could work off your carry over points. If you have a game where you are not charged you lose 5 points. So if you played 10 straight games without being charged your 50 points are gone.

Not 100% sure if this is still part of the process. Rules keep changing every week in v'landys league.

Latrell will only miss round 1 as the NRL have counted the All-Stars game as part of his suspension.

Thats fair. How can you be not allowed to play a game because your suspended but that game not count towards your suspension.
Will every suspended player now be able to come back a week early?

It's a fine line. Trials don't count towards suspensions. The All-Stars game is an exhibition match with cultural significance but it's still essentially a trial game too. So he's lucky to have that counted when other players can't get trial games counted towards their suspensions..

Couldn't Brandon Smith argue the same thing as he's suspended for round 1 and would have played for the Maori team?

NRL is run by clowns lol. This game shouldn't count as part of his suspension however he should've been free to play this game in the first place. It's not a competition game or anything,

Exactly, the NRL are farkin making it up as they go along. Rapana got suspended from an incident in the All Stars game, Fuimaono was suspended from a trial. How the fark can the NRL logically justify how a player can get suspended from an incident in a game but that game itself doesn't count against existing suspensions and you can't play in those games if you are suspended, WTF. Except if your Mitchell or course then the NRL just makes up exceptions as they go along.

Expecting a whinge from Melbourne anytime now.................

Yeah Melbourne have every right to ask for the same exemption for Smith and any other/club player that was similarly affected.

Even then, if the NRL make this judgement for Souths and Latrell, they should do it for Melbourne too. Not wait til the Storm complain about it.. As usual they've opened a can of worms with very little consistency.

I agree bro - but then he should of been allowed to play in it. It was seen as different from a trial game already by the NRL.

Yeah it makes no sense. They should have let him play in the All-Star game and keep the suspension as is. Like I said, if Latrell's suspension is reduced, then Brandon Smiths should be too..

No way it should have counted, especially considering it is an exhibition game that not all players are illegible for.

If he was a white fella he wouldnt have had that option.

The NRL just make shit up as they go and dig themselves holes. This is going to be used as a precedent going forward..

Mitchell had the opportunity to argue this at his trial but didn't. Why did the NRL re-open this case? Nearly every week the NRL corrupt some rule or law in the game to suit one of their favourites. It's WAY past time we got someone neutral with balls to run the game. At the moment we have a farce!
