Opinion How do you solve a problem like Averillo?

Except for the stubborn ones who can't accept that he's not the answer at 7 and never will be, what do you do with him? He's had more than enough opportunity to show he can be the halfback, and has barely showed anything. His skills are obviously pace and footwork, so imo, he can only be used in the backline, and I don't even know if he's better than our other options there. He could probably be a decent centre, but we have several wuality guys in that position.

It's disappointing as he was looking to be a future star when he emerged, but he just hasn't kicked on. I really don't know what we should do with him.

How do you catch a cloud an pin it down?? None are easy tasks !!!
 
He is a utility can fill positions I think but we either carry him or bbo on the bench or we play averillo somewhere in the backs and leave him be but he ain’t a half

He's a centre or winger. Can't get people claiming he's a fullback when he's NEVER shown he can ballplay, organise the defensive line or catch a bomb even.
 
I can’t remember the last time a halfback couldn’t get to the opening kick off to catch it

You could put him on the wing and let him spell dufty when he is out at fullback. Telling ya he would kill at fullback
 
Averillo was way off the mark tonight, his audition for regular first grade took a big hit - misreads in defence, mistakes and disappointingly, void of any direction or creativity. BBO was the stand out half tonight and he was average.

Put him on the wing. The only person he is better than is knock on bor.
 
As sad as it makes me, he is our new age Mbye. Really just can’t see him locking down any spot. Unless Burton transitions into a dominant half quickly Averillo will ruin his career here. He could be a decent 5/8 next to a Cleary type halfback but he’s lost in our team.

Hopefully Burton can control the team like Baz thinks he can!

How long are we gonna wait hoping this guy will come good?

Hope we can make a mid season signing.
