Reporting on ch9 that Jarryd Hayne has been released from 49ers.
More to come.

From my reading of this online this morning, I think it's a bit early to say his NFL career is over. .

Now we are talking.

Dogs get off your ass, offer him a first class ticket home, if true he sold his house a million dollar house and a nice big fat pay cheque.

3rd party dream and EXACTLY the type of player we need to be a real threat.

Imagine a backline of Hayne, Rona, JMoz, Lafai, BMoz...

He has to clear waivers and there may yet be a team willing to give him a chance in NFL.

Though we need to pull our ****ing finger out. We can't let uncle Nick just rape the cap and let him sign him for them anymore. He has picked up the last several superstars while we have sat on our hands. ****ING GO ALL OUT FOR HIM.

Hayne released

Stop waisting time with these threads/posts. Hayne went to the NFL for a reason. He was lucky to get on the roster and was always going to be content making a practice squad this year and playing next. He over achieved and got a roster spot and has now been waived so he's back where he thought he'd be. Do you really think he's the sort of bloke that will just spit the dummy quit and come and play for us? You're all dreaming too hard. Time to wake up.

Yeah like everyone mentioned he can be picked up by another team or re-signed on the 49ers practice squad.

This isnt a rumour (so moving the thread from "rumours"). They have cut him from the main squad. If no other team picks him up 49ers can have him in their practice squad (kinda like being in nsw cup here). With nfl you can't drop a player to the practice squad and keep them unless nobody else wants the player in their main squad, and the bottom teams get first dibs.

Every team is ranked based on their record from worst to first. The team with the worst record gets first dibs on him. If they don't want him it goes to the next team and so on and so on. If none of the other teams want him he will rejoin the 49ers in 2 days as a practice player.

hayne needs to be on the training squad learning the fundamentals of the game, not put on the side because he has potential, people go throw college and train for years to get on a side...
hayne needs to take this time to train and practice the fundamentals of the game

Wayne Beavis, who had an instrumental role in helping Hayne transition to American football, said there is 'no chance' his recently dropped client would consider switching back to his former code.

'There's no chance of him coming back, none at all,' Beavis told Australian Associated Press. 'He is 100 per cent committed to what he is doing over there.'
