Have we missed something right in front of us with recruitment?

Nasheed here,
It dawned on me yesterday that when we have been looking at who these new recruits are we have only been looking at players off contract, on contract but not needed by they clubs, England and for some free thinkers, other codes.

What hit me like a bullet is we haven’t condideeed retired players.
Think James Graham.
Still young. Retired. Presumably his body healed. Maybe he helps the prop situation as he was a good player?
He’s 35.
josh Morris 36
James Maloney 36 too.

This is not old.
Jimmy Anderson is still bowling test Yorkers at 41, Gallen was nailing men at 38, Cam Smith the same.
Half the rugby players in the wc forward packs are 35 plus.

Could we be bringing someone back from the dead?
Gus has hinted at a super surprise and this fits like a glove to that.

I agree Nashit.

He was killing it at the dragons in 2020. When our putrid side put the cleaners through them he was the dragons 12th best player that day.

Soon after that game he was released back to the super league. He got the ending he deserved whilst playing a very minor role in St Helen’s GF win.

The thing that frustrates me is that Gus has released 457 players in the last 2 years but you still remain on the kennel roster.

Are there any players that retired in last two years due to being worn out/exhaustion and all that?
JJ is one.

Would love a James Maloney on one year deal. Teach the boys and guide the team

I am afraid it's " Out of Gus's jurisdiction " :tearsofjoy:

With all due respect, we tried our legend Josh Reynolds for a return in hope of inspiration and experience this season. In some cases it may work.
