9's is a nothing competition. Sutton looked like he could do a job for us when he was at Raider (also surrounded by Tapine, Horse and Papalii) but even then he was signed on too much money (reportedly) and he hasn't even been able to do a job (average middle level) for us. It's been a Napa level signing so far for us.

This was always the risk, not only a lack of quality but a lack of depth in the middle. I’m still baffled why Gus wasn’t more aggressive earlier in the off season when there were actual middles available. It’s a massive worry.

Patolo has had a horror run of injuries, he just doesn’t seem to get on the field, Sutton not far behind him… Knight, King and Hughes will be doing some big minutes… we may need to even consider RFM if we’re desperate enough… Morrin and Poasa will also get opportunities

We could have got Kepie at least although he was on a long term deal on overs so I can see why that wasn’t so attractive at the time. In hindsight we still should have probs done it.
