Also wtf is wrong with liking Panthers?? Do you not remember they stopped Souffs & Parra from winning the GF!!! HELLO!!!!

I for one am grateful for this era of Panther dominance because the alternative would have been far worse.
Disgusting

Do you blame him coming out liking the panthers, he’s like a proud parent whose kid has achieved their goals.

He set them up to where they are today, people will find a reason to hate just as easily a reason to back and that goes with anything in life.

I hope Gus stays for the successful years. He will be given a boost from lower grades winning. I hope the players and staff are looking at the recent achievements and want to replicate that through out the club.

Ok on the one hand Gus' answer was correct in that likely 2024 Premiers will be Penrith 4-peat BUT on the other hand reality is he is OUR GM Football and aren't we also competing in that comp next year?

How would you feel about it if it was Ciraldo saying Penrith will win it again in 2024.

Reality is the man with even more responsibility than CC to make us improve to be able to compete, through putting together a Premiership roster, already says publicly we can't make it?

What do the playing group think about their General Manager already writing off any hope of them winning the comp (and pre-season has just begun)? ...hope they don't think, why bother about the blood, sweat and tears if you know your Admin don't think you can win the competition you are entered into for the next year ..and who is responsible for providing the playing talent and team mates you are expected to try and win the Premiership alongside. There wouldn't be too many sports psychologists advocating this kind of message to athletes.

It was certainly a bit of reality but probably also defeatist and an ill thought out tweet but that's Gus, warts and all. He sometimes mixes up his public media role with his Bulldogs GM Football role and they clash.

Im very shallow, the only times iv liked Gus are when he has been employed/contracted by the bulldogs - he seems to be prepared to do a lot, spend a lot, say a lot, sign a lot, sack a lot in order to be successful - and as it is professional sport the measure of success is winning.

There are contradiction in his comments, failures in his recruitment and waste in his spending but im sure all becomes irrelevant and forgotten or at the very least deemed part of the process when success is eventually achieved

Exactly Did :grinning: We 've gone all in with Gus in the belief he will bring us footy respectibility and success and we have no other reality than to see it through warts n all.

He has his supercilious ways and heaps of self belief and there's always controversy one way or another with him at the helm. Us supporters knew this and so did the Club heiracy before he was appointed. Afterall we were desperate to make meaningful change happen or else continue down the loser pathway.

His ego won't let him fail and that's the main comfort us Bulldogs can hold onto :grinning:

He wont care who he upsets to achieve success - or what it will cost.
