Gus speaking some facts, is he going to cop a fine lol.
Has he gone too far for NRLol/Abdo this time?Gus speaking some facts, is he going to cop a fine lol.
NRL should be embarrassed.
fuck abdo.Has he gone too far for NRLol/Abdo this time?
That Olam knock on that was a Falcon, was so dumb. What happened to letting the play go and checking if unsure? The ref obviously thought there was a definite knock on, only to look foolish when the replays showed otherwise. Gus saying the bunker could just award the try were bemusing though. You can’t do so after the whistle was blown, but I pretty much agreed with him otherwise. The chasers were still playing as if the ball was in play and it spoiled a great run by Coates.

The thing is, if all these greats of the game and great coaches/managers like Gus, Johns, Slater et al reckon the hipdrop and other adjudications are wrong, who came up with them? Did Abdo, PVL or someone in operations decide that any tackle that looked that way was a sin binnable offence?
No one was arguing against that one though. At least not doggies fans lol.pretty much similar to the wighton falcon in the dogs raiders game last wk
Just a bunch of suits sitting around hand wringing probably but just as likely a smartie realised it was another fortuitous way of manipulating games. The thing is, if all these greats of the game and great coaches/managers like Gus, Johns, Slater et al reckon the hipdrop and other adjudications are wrong, who came up with them? Tldr: Why don’t the idiots consult with legends of the game on these matters?!?!
it's a tough gig to make those calls live just sucks that if they let it go and they get tackled before the try line and score next play they can't even review itNo one was arguing against that one though. At least not doggies fans lol.
For once the referee got something right and he gets hammered for it by all the people who don't know the rules:pretty much similar to the wighton falcon in the dogs raiders game last wk
This is a straw man response. We see head high tackles get penalised a lot. Some get suspensions, some don't. This was an accident, but it still is a hip drop even. Players will need to learn to either once they have lost their legs drop off the tackle, or cop the hit on the field which is a penalty and possible binning It only ended up a hip drop cause he held onto the player even though he had lost his legs and thus lost control of his body position. That's on him. Players will learn and this play type will disappear as players learn to let go of the tackled player once they lose there legs and control of the tackle, or face the penalty. That's the risk players take.
What you mean you can't do this? For once the referee got something right and he gets hammered for it by all the people who don't know the rules:
Section 10 - Knock-on and Forward pass
Heading the ball 4. It is illegal to head the ball in a forward direction.
The rules (I know they like to call them "laws" but they are not laws) make no distinction between accidental and deliberate heading.
That's all fine IF Coates scores (which he would've in the end). But if any of the attempted tackles had've succeeded (there were a couple), the ref can't just stop play and ask the bunker to check how the ball ended up there. Coates plays the ball, Melbourne can score the next play, the bunker can't go back and check it/take it away. If the ref lets the play continue, he's committing to the decision of no knock on, and in 99% of cases when the ball comes spewing out like that, its a knock on from the defending team. That Olam knock on that was a Falcon, was so dumb.
