Gus is pretty much confirming Flanagan is playing

FfS there’s no logic reason for him at 6 he doesn’t offer anything remotely capable of that of a 6 let alone 7

Obviously Gus still calling selection shots
Perhaps Flanagan's being moved to 6, to give Burton time at 7, so when KO starts in FG, he starts at 6, with less pressure than 7.

Or, it's all a ruse, and Flanagan drops out before the game. Who knows.

You’ve summed it up well mate … all this premiership winning 7 talk is never going to happen.

The smart play is to go after a player who’s an out and out solid 7, one that brings good game management and kicking skills, a 7 that compliments the team and is consistent in the role.

We’ll have game breakers all over the park next season, JAC, Kiraz, SC, Xerri, Preston, Burton, Kikau and such … we don’t need an elite 7, we need a game manager with very good kicking skills and some upside.

I’m over the days of pushing players into a position and trying to make them into something we need, go after players who are specialists in their potions and then improve them.
yep it’s not as if Cleary is coming on the market and bar him I wouldn’t pay a million for any of the others (we had our chance to get Hynes). Just get a solid 7 who does the organisation kicks well and Trindall is a 90% kicker…we are having Burton who would dead set miss under pressure

Plus Burton has Preston next to him now...
Yeah the more I am thinking about this the more I like it TBH, it’s clear flange isn’t going to take control of the side and I like the idea of putting pressure on Burton to be more involved in the game and there is more chance that burton can create some opportunities for Preston.

There was a school of thought the Bulldogs may have been preparing to debut teenage half Karl Oloapu after the rookie playmaker was named in the no.18 jumper but Ciraldo stipulated this was not the case.

“There’s no ducks and drakes, Kyle will be playing five-eighth.”

Oloapu has impressed everyone at Belmore since arriving at the club and stripping 6kgs off his frame to currently tip the scales at 95kg.

Look in hindsight, debuting him against the Sharks whilst our team is this depleted is probably harsh circumstances for a debut. I would wait till next week against the Dragons to see if changes will be made
