Because it's fans paying players because THAT has been outlawed. It's like when Paul Dunn insisted he got paid to his company instead of to himself. It got rejected too even though it is legal (outside of the NRL)

What about money paid from other people or companies?
If a player is receiving money from any person as a way of inducing him to play for the club, then that money will be included in the Salary Cap.

There would be no payment direct from a fan to the player, it’s the company paying the player.

Their are at least 6 companies with TPA’s that I know of where the directors and or shareholders are absolutely “fans” of that club. I doubt that there is one single TPA that there isn’t a fan/s behind it somewhere.
