James graham did the same thing to Sam Burgess cheek in the GF … and bit off slater’s ear the year before in the GF and gets nothing… yet here he sits on 360 blowing Paul Kent’s every mumbled word … Benji is the only one talking sense… lattrell plays hard and that’s what we want to see , sure he slipped up!!! …it’s NRL…media turning this into a fucking circus… as too the haters
Are you insane? The 2014 GF tackle by Graham was an accidental head clash.

go to the 10 min mark to look at the replay of it

Have you looked at Billy Slater's ear recently? Do you see any pieces missing? Perhaps he bit it all off & it is artificial then. As Graham had done in previous games, he shouted in Billy's ear. The NRL would not allow a dentist to provide evidence that no bite occurred. That's a fact!

Interesting reading he didn’t dismiss Elliott being sacked.

Also I would like to point out those that said Crichton was on minimum? Gus just said both him and Ogden are worth than minimum. No way they are on it at this stage. Knew we overpaid Crichton when we took him from panthers as he was the “Samoan sauce” when mansour was good. Ffs

Yes, a lot would be surprised to see some of our current and recently former squad member salaries. Clubs have to spend 95% of the cap so either players are heavily backended or some blokes are on overs.

or you front load contracts year to year so you aren't locked into duds on overs for 3 years and you're maximising your cap space in future years. Even sign/promote min wage players. We'd be in a much better position right now/next year if we did that from 2018/19 onwards.

It would be hard to take from anyone other than Gus in his current role. We want him talking players up and being positive about them, in fact you'd be hard pressed to find a strongly negative comment about a player from Gus since he took on the role with us. Case in point #1, Latrell.

Gus is a smart operator, he wants players to want to be here. He is going to be publically positive about them all, not because he wants to sign them all, but because it leaves a positive feeling among the wider playing group in relation to our club. If any player that is here should no longer be here, Gus will make it happen, but it will be behind closed doors. He learned this stuff from other smart operators, including Bullfrog.

Yes agree and understand front loading and believe that has happened this year. It would have been too hard to do though in 2019 as there were quite a few players already on back ended contracts and we simply didn’t have the young talent to promote to first grade. Even now we are in a much better position with young talent, majority of the kids are still 12-18 months way from being ready for first grade. It’s a delicate balance but we have Gus overseeing it now and a chairman and coach who are heavily invested in junior talent so it’s something we can do going forward.
