ANOTHER week, another round of royal courtship for Bulldogs superstar Jamal Idris.

After last week's trip to Newcastle, Idris was yesterday spotted much further up the Pacific Highway in discussions with Titans officials on the Gold Coast.

The Daily Telegraph has learned Idris hit the holiday strip on Tuesday afternoon to inspect the club's $23 million Centre of Excellence prior to a dinner with Titans CEO Michael Searle and coach John Cartwright.

He spent the night at a Surfers Paradise hotel and lunched with Indigenous All Stars teammate Preston Campbell and other high-profile Titans yesterday.

It's also understood that Searle extended Idris and his manager, Sam Ayoub, a formal offer believed to be worth more than $400,000 a season.

It's the second offer the Idris camp has fielded in the past fortnight, following on from Newcastle's rich bid.

dris, however, will not make a decision until the Bulldogs finalise their offer. All three clubs are offering the dreadlocked three-quarter the chance to become an Aboriginal ambassador.

Dogs happy to let Jamal wander
Canterbury skipper Andrew Ryan gave NRL star Jamal Idris a license to travel on Thursday as the off-contract Bulldog continues to sort out his future.

Ryan is not concerned with the 20-year-old travelling to Newcastle and the Gold Coast to be wooed by rival teams vying for the most sought-after signature in rugby league.

Idris was seen arriving on the Gold Coast on Wednesday for a tour of the Titans' facilities and a meal with the team, having received similar treatment from Newcastle last week.

Both the Knights and the Titans have reportedly tabled very competitive offers to take Idris' services away from Canterbury.

But according to Ryan, as far as the Bulldogs are concerned there is no problem whatsoever - as long as he keeps dominating opponents like he did to South Sydney's Greg Inglis last Sunday.

"It was his day off and he can do what he likes on his day off," Ryan said.

"If he's still producing on the field and on the training paddock and he's in the right head space, that's all we can ask.

"... At the moment it's not affecting him. He's playing outstanding and that's all the signs we want to see.

"As long as he's doing his job for us, and he's certainly doing that, (we're fine with it).

"As long as that stuff's left to the side and it's not wearing him down at all."

Ryan admitted that he was hopeful Idris' re-signing didn't turn into a media circus, with the tireless second-rower and winger Steve Turner both reiterating their desire to see the game-breaking centre stay at Belmore.

"Everyone right throughout the club wants him to stay but at this stage he hasn't signed for us," Ryan said.

Turner added: "He's the talk of the town at the moment but all he can control and we can control is playing good football.

"It's up to Jamal and the people around him to sort out his career ... It hasn't hurt him so far.

"He's only 20 and has plenty of years left in the game so let him take as long as he wants."
