This is realing starting to look like a simple case of Willie getting an offer he doesn't want to refuse.

We have previously heard about the alleged $1M offer for him to play in the English Super league.

At the time of this offer Willie said his loyalty was with the Bulldogs - the fact is that beside his loyaly there was also the matter of a legaly binding contract.

This is like many relationships where one party wants out

Who are the biggest influences in Mason's life - his long time girlfriend and his long time player manager.

The same two people who stand to benefit the most from him playing in the UK

Wille stands to make an extra $500k plus a year if the contract with the dogs is broken.

If this turns out to be the charactor of the man then I would only release him him under one condition - he doesn't play in the UK!!

Let him play for another NRL team, where they can take the 450k hit on their cap.

Under these circumstances I'm sure we can put the extra $450k we would have to better use.

If he did leave, i would prefer if he went off to England then play for another NRL club.

Apparently he won't even be at the meeting on Wednesday, so that can't be good.

The club wont release him to play for another NRL club. They "might" release him to play ESL but def not NRL.

A lot of people arent realising too......Willy cant "quit" the dogs.....he's under contract ffs.

And i dont agree with giving him his own way and cutting him if he doesnt attend the meeting or for any other reason. If he is a turd about it.....make him play in PL for the whole season....stuff him.

Sounds like the perfect punishment to send him to PL until he proves he is no longer an ego maniac, shows respect and holds his form.

Honestly, I would rather protect the culture of the Dogs than accept Mason's terms to do what he will and have the Dogs bow to his every need.

He seems very bored wanting to do all these extra curricula activities and jeopardise his ability to meet the demands of his no. 1 priority of performing in FG for the Club.

I think he should be forced to spend the first 3-4 weeks in PL no matter what after this dummy spit charade.

And all this talk about other players being unhappy because of management this and management that; Get to terms you are paid to listen to management you bunch of pre Madonnas.

Now a word to management; pull you socks up and pull your finger out and never let the player culture get out of hand again, or it will be your head that needs replacing!

after a month Mason would have his kneeling pad out to get his spot back in FG. Would bring him down a peg.

He does cop heaps of tall poppy syndrome in the NRL, maybe its affecting his enthusiasm, lets hope he can turn the cheap shots into determination and have a good season in '08
