I agree. Queensland were the better team but Sutton did make it easier for them.

If he is our best ref from our game than for f sake we as a game are in trouble!!!

He has shown his partiality and incompetentness in many many games by overlooking offside position, knock ons, professional fouls etc..but yet he gets to ref the most elite game all ?

I used to think refs were just incompetent but not sure about this guy. Too many blatant one sided performances is no coincidence.

Hey did kill us , but it was the back to back to back penalties for holding down that got the ball rolling!! And when they done it to us...no penalty!!!

Sutton is blatantly corrupt. The only reason we were slaughtered is because of the several pre-meditated penalties he gave them in the 1st 10 mins. It was so obvious and he didn't even bother hiding his agenda. After that NSW just gave up

NSW weren't good but they were never given a chance. The refs did everything they could to get Queensland into the game then momentum did the rest.

At the end of the day, it's his inconsistent interpretation of the ruck ie. getting whistle happy and blowing the pea out, that led to QLD dominating in field position and in turn scoring more points.

I also see Sutton is the most unapproachable ref in the game which is not a good tag to have.

Point taken but the ref was too technical for a SOO and NSW had no answer for poor field position, we hardly launched an attacking raid,
First penalty we probably should of taken the tap.

Yep he cant be solely blamed, but hey when my 8 year old son wants me to open a tightly closed lid on a candy jar I only loosen it up for him and let him undo the lid himself. It looks like at the end that my 8 year old open the lid on that candy jar.

NSW were terrible and deserved to lose, but Sutton definitely made a number of pretty poor calls. His ruck penalties were inconsistent and seemingly called on a whim, and it did help Queensland establish momentum.

QLD had 65% possession in the first half because they kept getting penalty after penalty that they didn't deserve. NSW had no energy to do anything in attack because they were so tired from defending.
