Dr George would’ve been ideal, ever since he was shown the door it never sat well with me unfortunately he’s declined us.

And no doubt he would have some connections being chairman or the NSWRL.
yeah he got run out of town by the Andersons, lot on here were in full support of that.

Garry Hughes is not the man we need.

Now this is going to sound controversial, and I know he stuffed up (big time) in the past, but the man to get us out of this mess has to be Gary McIntyre.

Salary Cap scandal aside, he actually stopped the club from going under in the 80s - he's the very reason we STILL have a club to support. He is the man we need to get us out of this shemozzle.

Remember a few years back when Raerae was CEO, and the Telecrap had that front page headline "Bulldog and a Bomb" - all Raerae did was release a statement on the website saying how disappointed the club was with that.

If Gary McIntyre was the CEO or Chairman at the time, he would've sued News Ltd's arse off so much that they wouldn't dare tread their again.

The reason we are the laughing stock of the comp at the moment is because the managers are too soft, too gutless, don't understand or appreciate the level or power they have, and are in it for their own personal gain.

Gary McIntyre will bring the club back to the glory days, rather than all this Bulldogs DNA bullshit.

sorry when was the club close to "going under" in the 80s?? We were a powerhouse through the 80s on and off field.

What makes you think membership would blow out that quickly?
People now know you only need 10% of total membership to topple the Board. So there's a few smart people who will be signing up 150 of their nearest and dearest and making a run in a couple of years.

Yes, but we weren't the revenue-raising juggernaut we are today - and that's largely thanks to the Leagues Club. Gary was in charge of the Leagues club.

Even in today's game winning a premiership doesn't = money. All you get is $400,000 - LOL.

Early 80’s mate. Financially

He made some of the best moves to ensure we survived long term.

Constitutional changes, to give power to Football Club over the leagues club. Majority directors on the leagues club board need to be football club directors ensuring financial health and a future for the football club.

The first ever moves to expand the leagues club to buy out next door properties and put the leagues club on the map as one of the biggest leagues clubs in the southern hemisphere. This is what laid the foundation for other executives of the club to expand on as we have seen recently.

Not a bad bloke Gary, spoken to him a few times over the years.

Garry is my avatar because he was a great player but you won't find a more noble bloke and loyal Bulldogs man. I sincerely hope he accepts the board position even though he abhors the politics. Politics is and always was a major factor in the running of the club and the three positions will be selected largely on that basis, hopefully a couple of people with suitable skills to join Garry. Bad luck for them that Lynne Anderson and John Ballesty have gone and with Paul Dunn retaining the Presidency of the League Club be interesting to see the final composition of both boards.

What’s self evident about the Hughes’s is if they feel they’re wronged, they hold a grudge. They don’t get over it, they don’t move on.

I worry that if you put one on a board, you put them all on. Instant faction.

Bulldogs fan here: all seriousness scott Wilson should come in and mentor the players.
Andrew Ryan, hazem, big willie, reni, the General, should all come back in, bring Graeme Hughes David Gillespie, Robbo, tunksy, bring them each week. Be around players. Let player build on old time and create their own .

No more f#@king old boys... We already have plonkers in J Thomas and P Mortimer that also need to go.

Our board needs people with proven business acclaim, and younger age profile.
