Like Sue said. Props is a big issue. If king is the 17 instead of the 8 then we are a quality pack. We have no proven fullback. We have no halfback at all. A few average 6’s that we are trying to make a 7.
But this is the perfect time that we need to channel bullfrog. When you think you have enough props buy 2 more. Jayden, Edwards aren’t meter eaters which we lack. Unless we get some hard nose props (in the Vaughan mould) to put up 130 meters per game and 35 tackles, these guy are passengers.
I’d want Atleast 7 recognised or up and coming middles. 5 in the 17 and 2 banging down the door.
Halfback is an Absolute must. Like if we don’t improve there we aren’t going to be in many games. I know it’s not popular on here at the moment (and I said 3 months ago alamoti had his ups and downs and got laughed at by everyone that was gagging for him) but I’d stick him on the bench as a back rower. Give him a year or 2 to fill out (like leniu when he first started seeing first grade, was in a minor role). And eventually he’d be a barnstorming edge or lock.
I do hope a lot of the deadwood that honeydick us with a decent performance 2-3 times a year are moved on and we finally get players with the defensive efforts in their game. We need enforcers, hard nosed players and never say die players. We need the Luke Lewis’, dale finicanes, kayfusis, fisher harris’, a prime tolman types to lay a platform. Stiffen up our middle. Control the ruck. And then with a decent half we will go our thing. We might not win every week. But we’d win more then we lose.
