Elliot maybe gone for the season but if he and Hoppa return, I'd like to see this team run out. We're not gonna smash teams but it's good enough to keep up with the teams if we play simple mistake free football.

Meaney
DWZ
Lafai
Hoppa
Smith
Averillo
Foran
Tolman
JMK
Thompson
RFM
Jackson
Elliott

Katoa
To'omaga
Sue

I might upset a few on here but this team, with those players, in those exact positions is 100% NOT a bottom 4 team, I don't care what anyone says.
A good coach would have this team sitting anywhere between 5th and 10th.

Does Averillo have a kicking game? That's my concern with him partnering Foran in the halves because Foran isn't up to big clearing kicks.

Put him on the training field with Sherwin for three months straight and get him to kick long into the corners over and over and over and over again until he does it blind folded. Not hard if you train for it.

I think he put in a kick on debut and it resulted in a try. I can't comment on his long kicking game

It's amazing how much better the team list can read with the addition of Thompson and Lafai. My only change to your team would be Cogger for Averillo. Averillo would be my reserve for positions 1, 3, 4, 6.

Schoup, Topine and Doorey may not be ready but I don't care - I just want to see them get a go this year. I couldn't find a spot for Meaney but he's the 18th man
I'd have BBO on the bench but he's in QLD

Exactly right. It's the same thing with passing. For the life of me I couldn't understand why Lichaa's passing was so shit even after 3 years. If there is an area of your game that is a weakness, you practice it 100 times a day for as long as it takes until it gets better. That's how Cronk developed his skills

Some people can practice as much as they want, but they'll still never be good. You're just asking for improvement, but it just shows Lichaa was capped, no more improvement left in him. When it becomes a mental problem too, good luck.

Not a bad team. Others have already queried the halves in terms of kicking, so I'll ask about the wing spot. If RSmith doesn't pick up his game, who would you put there? Or are you saying that even on current form he is the best we have?

Meaney's the best we have on current form. Until we see something from Okunbor it's hard to make a case for him. I had Meaney and Reimis (obviously struggling now) above Okunbor last year.

Looks like Katoa is in the good books with everyone,
That’s a fair call.
He was outstanding against the knights.
I’m going to be keeping a very close eye on him this weekend lol

They really should have had specialised kick coaching already for Wakeham (length), Lewis (grubbers/unco) Cogger and JMK. It's been a weakness in the team now for ages.

And I'll add our FB to that list as well. A great skill all FB used to have. Probably be a good weapon to have now too.

And I'll add these guys get paid enough. If our club is too tight, dumb or prioritizing improving skills, then these guys should try and improve their own games by hiring their own skills coach after club training.

I watched a bit of him in Canterbury cup, kicking game was almost nonexistent, good in general play, who knows Barrett was a good half,I’m sure he’ll have some pointers for him.
