How has he burnt his bridge exactly?

He obviously left club for cash. We can't sit around and hope for a return one day. We made him really. Good luck but the doggies have moved on surely. Montoya is better and can't get a gig at present

Didn't he leave for family reasons? Not saying there was a financial motivation too, but family is a pretty significant reason why footballers move around.

While I like Montoya, not sure if I'd say he's better than Rona at this stage

I think he left because his partner has family support in Perth.

But yeah if this Rugby team folds, financially I think he would be forced to move. I would rather just keep Montoya because of the cash difference.

Yeah I agree. I think from a cap perspective, give him Hoppa money (if Hoppa doesn't re-sign) for first year, then backend a bit to coincide with the retirement of Brett/Josh Morris. That way, we keep an option over Rona in the early years and then have a replacement for Borris with Montoya on other wing (assuming we keep Montoya).

Family reasons = cash
The big 3 all have family in Qld but have spend all their footballing life in Melb
