Forget Cronk - We have Frawley

Frawley comes of contract this year, if he keeps playing the way he is, will we be able to afford him?

He re-signed a couple of months ago for two years so off contract at the end of 2018

Everyone is easily pleased that was such a woeful game..
Yes Frawley is better then Mbye and Reynolds lets face it that isn't hard!
Its been that long since we have had a half back we forget what it feels like.
Frawley is like a Blake Green of a side,does his job but nothing special.
We need Tedesco Cronk/Foran asap!!

True though his try was pretty special for his second game and his pass for J Moz was as good as any 7 in the game

I watched Frawley cloely I his first game last week and I was very happy with what I observed. Couldn't get to the game this week and had to resort to the bulldogs twitter. Even from that meagre feed the difference when Frawley cam on was obvious. Don't cruel the dogs future by bidding with heavily back ended contracts for stars when not needed. Instead look for a goal kicker to round out the squad.

On the mbye thing, maybe des needs to run 3 forwards on the bench and have mbye as a utility, he can cover a back/half if they get injured and/or maybe slot into dummy half and provide some much-needed speed once the game settles down a bit?

750k is a bit much for a utility. Mbye should be groomed as a fullback or hooker.

Right now we have 2 5/8s. If we have Cronk and Frawley then we have 2 halfbacks. Regardless of how good they are, they both play the same sort of game. Would just become a problem.

If Frawley is our future moving forward then the perfect partner os Foran. Even though Cronk is exciting to think about in blue and white, he is not going to be there for to long. Foran is still relatively young and Frawleys still a pup. This is a halves pairing you can build the next 5 yrs around. Fast track Woolford and the future is bright.

I just watched the 04 grand final replay. It's so depressing that we couldn't keep most of that team for a longer period. What a great team it was though. And there's just 2 names in that team that could take most teams to grand final glory if they play together.
Sbw and Thurston.
2006 should have been another grand final win fkn complacent *****.

The question comes down to this. If you could sign Cronk right now and lose Frawley in the process, would you do it?

As it stands we may have more time. If Frawley starts at halfback from now on then we can test him. If Cronk's management says that he needs time to decide then throw the interest to Cronk but keep testing Frawley.

If Frawley keeps doing what he's doing then we stick with Frawley. If Frawley drops off then we go hard for Cronk.

If we had to choose right now it'd be a much tougher decision. Personally I'd go for Frawley as he has much future potential. Des is thinking about the next 2 years though so he may go Cronk.
