Sorry to hear about your illness I hope you recover well

Man, I use to be beast. Fit, sexy body, abs, benching 180kgs, gym with my life. Until I had kids, complete dad bod now. I do want to get back into shape, I went to the gym yesterday actually and bench 20kgs after the work out my elbows were fucked. Goes to show age and not use to lifting again.

Just takes time and consistency, one step at a time.
Haha did you have a massive cock too?

Tbh, 100% weight isn’t important it’s only good to know to keep track of your progression whether that be losing or gaining weight.

The other best most under utilised tool that every one has is a simple mirror over time you’ll see and feel your progress.

In terms of my goals, eat healthy, get fit, loose my gut, I don’t expect to be the guy I was 10 years ago but I want to be fit and healthy fit my kids.

lol BBQ doesn’t help, I’ll just need to adjust and just be the chef to feed others

Side note for a fit person I use to be a heavy smoker for 15 odd years I’ve quite and haven’t had one since Feb this year after my daughter was born. Definitely feel a huge difference.
Fuck yeah,
I was a smoker also.
I quit when my wife told me she was pregnant with our 2nd child.
It's been 13 years now.

I kid you not, even after 13 years, I occasionally get the urge for a cigarette.
Especially when bbqing and chilling with a beer.

Mate,
Your journey is inspiring
It's hard enough to look after yourself when you able body,
To have a disability makes it super hard.

Yeah my diet and portion sizes have had a overall since my operation.

My love of all things bbq has had to take a back seat for a while.

I'm love fish so trying to eat more fish when I can.

My snacks now are really just fruit and nuts.
Lucky I do live both, can't believe I been eating chips and buskits rather than fruit and nuts for so long.

Need to increase my veggies though

I'm always wanting to snack of a night before bed.

It's a struggle every night not to eat whilst watching TV or scanning the kennel.

That's what I struggle with the most
Great You love fruit and nuts..these are beautiful..

I should get myself a bit fitter but my motivation levels are that of a sloth.

Probably some strength and conditioning wouldn't go astray, need to get my cardio up.
You are not alone haha,.
That's every single one of us that carries extra weight.

I had a health scare to kick my lazy arse into gear.

Running a marathon is the goal for next year.

The goal will be to get fit enough to run it out without dropping too much muscle mass during the prep. Currently 95kg and would prefer not to drop below high 80’s. Will be a tough slog.

Hey guys.
This might turn out to be a flop of a thread.

But I thought I'd start a thread for people to talk about their goals and achievements no matter how big or small.

Bit of background.
Some of you may know I fell ill and needed an operation.

I lost 10kgs in a few days.
Not a good way to lose weight.

But I used that as motivation.
I was sitting at 108kgs.
I am now 95kgs.
For context,
I am a shorty only 177cm tall.
Under my fat layer I'm a slight frame kinda guy.
I was wearing size 38 pants
I'm trying to get down to size 34, currently 36s
I'm trying to also get into a large shirt, currently 2 xl

But weight, I want to get down to 80kgs.

I'm not setting any time limits.
Just eating better and doing regular exercise
I'm doing gym classes sessions 3 arvo a week

Today was my 2nd session
The pain, my God, I'm struggling.

Enough about me.
I'm hoping everyone can discuss their story, discuss their goals and support each other.

Also,
If there is a fat lazy prick who gets inspired by this thread to turn their life around, then that would make my day.

Anyway,
Looking forward to hearing everyone's fitness stories and progress.

No matter what level, it's all exercise

Oh, and feel free to share healthy meal ideas
About a year before we had our baby boy I trained hard at the gym and got into the best shape of my life, however after about a year of parenting I managed to undo my hard work and get to 98 kgs. However I then needed my Gallbladder out which led me down a healthy eating path for 6 months till my surgery and I managed to go from 98 to 78 kgs. I never felt comfortable being that light and have managed to get back up to around 85 and I'm comfortable with that. The challenge is staying there. I find portion sizes are the biggest thing and staying away from red meat and sugary shit :tearsofjoy: Good luck on your journey though bro

Keep us posted mate.
How's your current fitness level.

I'd love to run a marathon also.
Currently I'd be lucky to jog 300m

I haven't set that as a personal goal, but maybe I will.
I use to be great at long distance 25 years ago.

Would take some work but I think I could get there

If you eat anything white, swap it with brown eg bread rice pasta etc.

I replace bread with multi-grain Vita wheat's.

Skim milk as opposed to FC milk if you choose to drink it.
I only have a dash in my tea coffee.

Hardest part is snacking/craving at night. Peanuts and Dark chocolate are perfect.

Salad every day.

Cardio at least 4 days a week.
Light to resistance weight training ontop of that.

I save my cheat day for the weekend.

I just had my gallbladder removed.
I'm keen to hear about what you are eating.

I'm still trying to find the right balance.
Without the gallbladder there is nothing controlling bile acid in the intestine
So to controll that you need to be carefull with your diet.
Too much fibre you get the runs
Not enough you get bound up.
I am struggling with balance at the moment

Yes,
I have changed to brown bread and vita wheat's also.
I'm on skim milk also.
Only a dash in my tea
Tea I'm having now rather than coffee.

Cravings at night is the killer without fail.

How about stuff like pasta.
Say pasta with red sauce and mince beef

I love pasta but only once a month. When I get the cravings for pasta....i boil brown rice and top it up with minced meat/bolognese. Best of both worlds.

I limit the sauces to once a week...to acidic. Gives me heart burn.

Good for you buddy...your on the right path
