Bitter Sweet Symphony:

'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony that's life / Trying to make ends meet, you're a slave to money then you die..

It's pretty simple, and it must be at the forefront of every single players mind in the Bulldogs squad -

"THERE'S NO EASY WAY OUT"
"THERE'S NO SHORTCUT HOME"

Should be our team motto and be played on repeat when the boys are training and deep in the trenches.

I'm feeling good, I'm feeling so fine
Until tomorrow, but that's just some other time

Velvet Underground/Lou Reed
‘Waiting for my Man’

A true one liner-
‘Wham, bam, thank you mam’
Suffrogate City
David Bowie

Lets get fair dinkum . . . This is written by King and he plays the solo's

SCRUM - SLAYER

No blood no glory
All pain and fury
A demonstration
Of domination
Show of pure intimidation
Full contact why I live and breathe
Side stepping all the human debris
Head strong I know that I'll prevail
Face down in my arena you will fall
Head to head eye to eye
Human pile of proven pride
Ripping flesh spitting teeth
Sacrifice for victory
Base line goal line
Overtime killing time
Relentless brotherhood of discipline
Centuries of traditions is to win
Head first into battle feel the rush
Living on adrenaline your try is crushed
No blood no glory
All pain and fury
Head to head eye to eye
Human pile of proven pride
Ripping flesh spitting teeth
Sacrifice for victory
Base line goal line
Overtime killing time

This should be the song we run out to . . Meanwhile our forwards need to be kept in a cage during the week, fed nothing but raw meat via way of slingshot, whilst listening to this song playing, to encourage a pavlovian response . . . .On game day . . . We open the cage . . .And play the song . . . I'll let the dogs out !!

There are two which resonate with me.

#1 Poem by Taproot
"This song is a poem to myself it helps me to live,
In case of fire break the glass and move on into your own, your own"

#2 Misery by Memphis May Fire
I try to take the pain away, nothing seems to change
But when I go through hell, it's when I know myself
And all the lies that I believe are digging me a grave
But when I go through hell, that's where I find myself
Remade in misery

I fucked your sister,
I fucked your cat,
Tried to fuck your mum,
But the bitch was too fat

Title: Strokin’
Artist: Clarence Carter
Written by: Clarence Carter

Line: I be strokin’

Interpretation: He um..pleasuring his lady friend. Initially I thought he was looking after himself. :grimacing:

Ps. Just to confirm it is about pleasuring his woman.. Here are a few lyrics leading up to another doozy of a line..

The other night I was strokin' my woman
And it got so good to her, you know what she told me
Let me tell you what she told me, she said:
'Stroke it Clarence Carter, but don't stroke so fast
If my stuff ain't tight enough, you can stick it up my' woo
!

Did you know a girl like that in uni
I know where these uni girls work when they're not at uni.

I'll drop a hint.
Since 1984!
If not? Then you will find them charging $350 for half an hour on the other side of Parramatta road!

My Way - Frank Sinatra

"For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels"
Big words from a guy who didn't erite his own songs lol.

Good line, though.

Here on the northern beaches, we have a couple of cinemas owned by Mr. Mustaca, look him up, he's a real character, and he loves to sing and write his own songs.
All the music you hear in the theatres before the movie starts etc is from his albums
One such lyric went, "We have the right to turn out the light and find each other in the dark..." Yeah, that one had the place in stitches!

"In the time of chimpanzees I was a monkey"

Not many better openings to a song than that.

From a very, very strange cat indeed.
