EELS MOVE TO STOP DOGS SNIFFING AROUND HAYNE
Parramatta Eels are preparing a quick negotiation with Jarryd Hayne before November, it's been rumored that Bulldogs will offer Hayne a contract he will not reject with a mega-deal, but the Bulldogs cannot approach Hayne until the November deadline passes, because under NRL rules, no club is allowed to approach Hayne, who is contracted until the end of 2015, before this November. My opinion, Hayne will re-sign with the Eels but anything can happen so fingers crossed.

The Eels would be just as desperate to keep him. They also have the advantage of being in his ear every single day.

I don't think there's any chance at all that he'd play for us.

Anyone can approach players in the NRL while they are contracted, no matter what time of the year it is.

Almost certain that is not the case at all.

I know it happens, but as the article states there is a deadline from November when a player is coming off contract the next year.

Thats exactly right, the salary cap document on the NRL website clearly explains this yet you always see the media referring to these imaginary dates.

Yes you are correct. You have the June 31 deadline and from November onwards, though it does not stop clubs sniffing players unofficially. Just dont get caught out, and the way to do that is to leave no paper trails, text messages, voicemails, twitter, facebook, etc

This is a common practice in all sports

I think he will stay with the Eels, seems like a one club type of guy.

Yeah thats what they all claim when they stay for 'less' when they are offered stacks more to move on.

Win for player and their parasitic agent to make it look like he is loyal to the club.
Agent also pockets bonus from club for talking his client to remain 'loyal'
