The NRL has suspended Dragons prop Francis Molo for two matches and fined $15,000 in relation to a domestic incident in December.

In February, Molo pleaded guilty to one count of stalk/intimidate with intent to cause fear or physical harm.

The charge carried a maximum sentence of five years, but Molo was sentenced to an 18-month conditional release order, and issued a two-year apprehended violence order. A conviction was not recorded.

In a statement released Thursday afternoon, the league said Molo had been served with a breach notice of the NRL's Code of Conduct.

Of the fine, $5000 will be suspended for 18 months. He will also be required to attend education and training sessions run the the NRL.

In a statement, the Dragons said they had accepted the suspension, and "will continue to provide ongoing support and assistance to Molo's family".

Molo still has one week to serve of a three-week suspension for a dangerous tackle on Gold Coast's Moeaki Fotuaika, and so this fresh suspension will begin next weekend.

Definitely his lucky day. Conviction recorded would have made it hard to attend games in NZ.

At least the NRL isn't still being hypocritical by running the anti domestic violence and just ignoring when it's perpetrated by a player with enough talent. I'm not saying they're suspending talented players for doing it. They're just not running the campaign anymore.

Hopefully he sees some jail time. He’s the ultimate piece of shit. Same guy killed a bloke with a shoulder charge in Q-Cup and furthermore shoved and kneed him as his lifeless body laid on the ground.

Wow... only just read that after seeing your message.

Wonder if the family got a cent from him, but I'm amazed this has never surfaced since that incident.

It’s common knowledge that Molo was involved. It was an accident and nowhere near intentional though. The DV shit is much worse.

I agree accidents happen but seems that he was previously warned (and knew shoulder charges were banned), had history for doing shoulder charges in Q Cup, and had already done one that match.

The reading of the coronial inquest into the incident surrounding Ackerman's death make for some disturbing reading. Pretty thorough even mentioning the responsibility of his club to ensure proper tackling technigque.

Francis’ suspension finished just prior to the end of the 2015 season. In 2016, Francis played again for the Norths Devils in the Intrust Super Cup. Francis was penalised twice during that season for shoulder charges, both of which were deemed to be Grade One charges being the lowest grade. He received further suspensions of two weeks and three weeks respectively

He did not shoulder charge with the intent to kill him. There are players who shoulder charge every week of the NRL. Tragic accident. The DV shit makes him scumbag though

No chance. This scum bag didn’t even apologise to the family.
And guess what he decided to do on the first tackle in the next game he played against the Sunny Coast - you guessed it, shoulder charge to the head. It’s a disgrace that NRL clubs have continued to support him. This DV charge is the exact return on investment they deserve.

Happy for our players that Molo won't be on the paddock.
