Greg Alexander said on radio this morning that Burton is maybe not a five-eighth, likes to run and was centre of the year last year. If he plays centre for us who plays five-eighth, bit of food for thought.

Brandy's playing games, or are we supposed to believe that five eighths don't run the ball?

The issue is that he's getting jammed from the outside and our distributor (be it Flanagan or Jackson) never identifies this, skips Burton and plays out to Schoupp - or ideally to a linking Fullback who makes the play.

The guy is playing like shit, if he thinks Barrett is good for his career he is deluded.
I can't and won't admit he came here for Baz.

Probably will have the game of his life on Friday now his restrainer got booted.

Given that we have Burton locked in for next year at least I'm not going to start stressing about baseless rumours yet. Couldn't actually see a quote from anyone in the article to indicate that he wants to do more than test his market value like 90% of in demand players do. If the club is smart they're working on an upgrade and extention before his second year ends.

The players would have to know that just being friends with the coach doesn't work out for their best career unless the coach is quality. By all means they can have a beer with Barrett without him being their coach, but will they celebrate a premiership win with him as coach?

Have to keep burton. At least we will have our 6 and 9 sorted for close to the next 10 years. What halfback or fullback wouldn’t want to play with those 2

When it comes to Burton, anything that comes out of Brandy's mouth needs to be taken with a whole shaker of salt. Or better yet, ignored completely.

Can’t believe some of the idiots in this place expressing indifference if Burton leaves. The bloke (with the assistance of Ado Car) is carrying this team. He is playing as both our 6 and 7 right now. How good would he look with a proper 7 next to him.

How good would he look under a proper coach with our fowards rolling and a good game plan. When your a shining light in an underperforming side there’s clearly some potential. I would dread loosing him imagine him at Melbourne tearing the league up in a few years. Many are to quick to judge we have to keep him by all means.

If he has said that it means that rumours of Dolphins wanting Crichton are true and Brandy is trying to manipulate our situation to try and get Burton back. Burton is a spine player and should never go back to playing centre. I'm over Penrith and their smug nature.

Agree. We can say to him look we are happy for you to go to market whenever you want. But here is our offer and it will not be lowered, let us know when you are ready and we will match what is out there.
