I think it is only fair that the Bulldogs should get a look at the Roosters contract if they have maintained the right of reply. It shows the wisdom of the club in that they won't rely on media conjecture to panic them into paying phuckloads more than he is being offered elsewhere. It annoys me that the only sources that propose to know anything about contract offers is the media. It's why i hate player managers who i believe speak to the media in order to inflate player salaries. I'm fully aware it is their job to get the best money they can for a player (which in turn increases their cut) but hate the way they seem to go about it.

I hope big baldy stays but am happy that he is apparently leaving the Roosters hanging. Sadly though it means he is doing the same to us.

who was the last major bronco's player to be shed due to the salary CRAP.

and they can afford Lockyer, Tate, Hodges, Cimonceva, Hunt, Carlaw, Tony Carroll, brad thorn.. all test or origin players at some stage.
Win a premiership 2006 then were at some stage in the market for Lote Tuquiri commanding upwards of 500k per season

We loose a premiership for greedy anasta then shed Price, Asotasi, Myles, Anasta, Irvine, Scott, Thurston and Omeley and possiblly Utai

Im sure i have missed many others

And then ask for some of our best players to take pay cuts

PS.. Dont care about Anasta and Myles now... but did at the time.. Will the roRTErs reveal the true amount offered to Omeley..i doubt it

What a load

If grahame murray remains NSW coach he is certainly not gonna do the roosters any favours.

This means mark o meley will miss out on 3 X $12500. If you had that to his proposed new deal of 330000, thats 365k. Included the couple of third party sponsors he has and he could be on close to 400k a year. His manager is meant to be one of the best money managers going around so I don't know why they need to scrounge for the extra dosh. The roosters deal must simply be too good to refuse. I don't believe it would only be 400k... more 450k+

this whole thing stinks.

He will sign with the Roosters, he had pretty much said as much in saying he wants to look after his family with the next contract (how cliche is that for "I am a greedy bastard - money money money").

I say let him go, go get a wooden spoon, no more rep call-ups, its his choice.

As I have said before, the Bulldogs Administration have always known which guys to keep and those to let go or chase. I have faith the Doggies will bring through a qualified replacement.

Nice try Wayne Beavis! Who said being a player agent was easy? You have your work cut for yourself you leech. Earn your bucks.

Mark, may I suggest that you seriously consider your options rather carefully. You could be forgiven by trusting your manager however your current manager is not providing you with a long term sustainable deal/arrangement. Do as you wish? It is your career.

the Tattoo just shows he is a dog at heart.. he wants to stay, but at the end of the day, he has taken pay-cuts to stay at the club and has shown plenty of loyalty. if he goes, then good luck to him, i just have a hard time understanding how the salary-cap promotes fairness in our game? how is it fair to dogs fans who loose a gun player every year? how is it fair that he joins a club like the roosters? yes they are doing it tough on the field but they are by no means a struggling club..look at there team on paper!!

the last thing i am going to say on this matter...lol

in my opinion...the nrl should follow the likes of the european soccer clubs...who breed players....

say the dogs breed a player...that is, spend the clubs money..improving their strength, skills, knowledge etc...
....if that player becomes to expensive due to the salary cap...(which i cant stand)..then the club that wants that player..should in turn pay the "dogs"...a remunneration or transfer fee on top of the salary they need to negotiate for that player...

in this case...if the rorters and the bunnies are going to steal players by offering them heaps of money...clubs like the Bulldogs are in turn compensated...
WHAT DO U GUYS THINK???

as far as the salary cap goes...look at the english super league..they have no salary cap...and their comp in thriving and as popular as...huge fan numbers at their games..

damn some of u are a bunch of bitter twisted uneducated lot......every single one of u want omeley to stay deep down...ofcourse u do.The dogs have had every chance to retain his services yet they tried the old three card trick on him and called his bluff.Guess what the dogs lost and omeley is now a rooster with fat pockets which are much deserved.done

lets move on.
