BULLDOGS chief executive Malcolm Noad insists the club did not lose money on Friday night's clash with North Queensland despite the small crowd at Suncorp Stadium.

The Dogs shifted the game to Brisbane in the hope of attracting fans in town for State of Origin but ended up attracting just 15,412.

"We have a lot of support up here but the crowd was a bit down on what we thought it would be," Noad said.

"But there was still plenty of blue and white there.

"Suncorp have been great to deal with but they just miscounted the pre-sales. On Thursday night it was 17,500 but that turned out not to be the case."

The match is set to return to the venue next season with an option on a third year. The big injury news out of the game was a recurrence of a neck problem for North Queensland centre Paul Bowman.

He had scans yesterday but the club says there will be no results until Wednesday. Brenton Bowen has an ankle injury while for the Bulldogs, winger Andrew Emelio suffered a new knee injury and will get MRI scans back today.

Has anyone stopped and thought that the Club moved it to Brisbane to reward/treat our Qld supporters?

Yes we are a Sydney based club but it's a great gesture to take one home game a year elsewhere. Sydney supporters have ample opportunities to watch their team so it's only fair to give our interstate supporters a taste.

Also, even if this was just about money. WHO CARES?! How dare our CEO try to make a profit for his club! He should be sacked.

WTF didnt we play Canberra there or Melbourne. If that was to reward QLD dogs supporters .

They expected the dogs to be on top of the ladder when they booked it and thought they could fill the stadium.

Instead it backfired because we needed the points and the COWS were urged on by a strong fan presence and the Reconsilation trophy to get lots of Indegenous Australians there who DONT support the dogs TBH

How many Canberra and Melbourne supporters are there period let alone in Qld? The move to Suncorp didnt backfire because we lost. We lost because they weren't there to play for the majority of the game. I heard we made a profit from the move anyway.

A loosing side for any team does not attract fans through the gates.

I do wonder whether our team would have turned up at Telstra and what crowd we would have got given the fact it was the live game on channel 9

god not emelio that means cutler will be back :(
he played well in PL from what i heard, although he is a fullback not a winger. Although still on the other hand if you consider yourself to be a fullback you need to have some type of experience under the high ball, which unfortunately on some occasions i didnt see with cutler.
